I don't know why they like them so much, but boy, they do...
Somebody obviously saw the popularity of YouTube "unwrapping/unboxing" videos with toddlers a few years back and realized that someday those toddlers would be little girls who would go completely bonkers for unwrapping stuff. So here we are, and I wish I had been that genius. If you have a girl between 6 and 10, still-wrapped LOLs are essentially fiat currency. All my children want are LOL dolls, all they talk about with their friends are LOL dolls, and heaven help me I hate these things so much but I will keep buying them because you can bribe 7 year old girls to do ANYTHING around the house with the promise of an LOL doll. Clean your room? Help with dishes? Get your shoes on before we leave for school without me having to ask sixteen times? Dangle the promise of an LOL doll in the future, it all gets done. And when they finally get one, suddenly they have distributed little shreds of unrecyclable hard shrink plastic all over the house, and tiny plastic boots to be stepped on in the dark, and.. if you're terribly unlucky you'll get squirted you in the eye with LOL pee... (Or out the ears, which is apparently the other option.)This LOL is the crown jewel of not-insanely-priced LOLs, and has a lot of puzzles to solve and satisfying trap doors to open, which slows them down in the unwrapping phase a little, justifying the cost-per-minute just a bit more. They also come with an extra layer of plastic...thing around the doll itself that is too toy-like to seem like it was supposed to be thrown away but too packaging-like to actually be played with. I'm not sure why they have that. They also love mixing and matching the snap on clothing items and finding out the details of their doll in the little catalog that comes with each package. The pill-shaped plastic container itself also doubles nicely as a little purse or change bank or thing-that-ends-up-at-the-bottom-of-the-toy-drawer-inexplicably-filled-with-dirt, so there's that too.So, if you don't mind feeling like you're totally destroying the environment with endless shreds of unrecyclable plastic detritus, and aren't offended or annoyed by toys with squirting pee/ears/eyes, they're excellent.

This prolongs the excitement of getting to the blind bags
My daughters are LOL fanatics. I can't even count how many we have as they have asked for them for their Christmas and birthday from both sides of the family. these were new to us so I ordered one each for my kids and these are my favorite. It takes a while for a 4 year old to work these codes to open it. I don't think it's a big surprise that one of the major things kids love about LOL is the mystery and excitement of opening blind bags. This just prolongs the excitement and I like it because I feel like it actually works their brain a little bit. Even though sometimes these are financially irritating to purchase because I'm sure they are dirt cheap to make, my kids love them and we will continue to purchase. The value doesn't come in the actual merchandise it comes in the excitement and anticipation. My kids do also play with these everyday.

Really fun to open for all involved
I was nervous at first because I didn't hear anything about these specific LOL dolls from my girls, but the reviews I read seemed promising so I ordered 2. They are SO neat! After the first 3 layers of the plastic paper wrappings, we collected the clues and revealing magnifying glass type device we reached the capsule of sorts. Then we had to crack the codes to open each section! My 7 year old really loved that part, almost like hieroglyphs to get to the doll and accessories. Our 3 year old wasn't as impressed, but she was happy when I got them open for her and she did the regular surprise bag bit. The dolls are super cute and have fun accessories, to include the capsule that becomes a purse and stand for the doll. I think I even prefer these ones to the confetti ones, I don't have to clean as much Post reveal haha.
