This is a great book for designers out there to learn the in's and out's of the PreMedia, In House Prepress and Printing; also explains in great detail what tools are needed for DESIGN and how to use the correct program.I've been in the business for 20+ years and one of my biggest pet peeves is designers using vector base illustration or image editing applications as layouts, enoughalready!!!, do not think that because you are an awesome web design is the same application for printed pieces....PLEASE take the time to read this book to educate yourselves in the matter, it will save you a lot of money.

Great book if you really want to get in-depth about printing! We used this for our print reproduction process class in graphic design school, and this is one book I'll be keeping to use for future reference constantly! A bit of the info is outdated, but still completely worthwhile.

I used this book extensively when designing my own book, Treasure of Shabbat: An Illuminated Guide to the Shabbat Table Experience. It was very helpful.

I was very happy to purchase this book for a considerable savings. This is a required text for a publications class I'm taking. Our campus bookstore was charging around $50.00 for a new book. I paid less for a new book than what they were charging for a used one!

Pretty basic and not much on digital capability

Very pleased to find this, as my earlier edition was out-of-date. It's important to understand and appreciate the role of the printer, even in today's digital world.
