Great DSP Book!
Great book for demystifying digital modulations. Gives the right amount of theory, math and block diagrams that underpins the MATLAB code.

An excellent college text
An excellent college text!! It covers most situations encountered by any student. The author is advised to include LTE simulation also!

Very introductory - weak on theory and implementation
The positive side of this book is a "hands on" approach in which coding of concepts is done without recurring to MATLAB's communications Toolbox. This is fine and it really is better for a student to do it himself than to use somebody else's code.Having said that I find that it is too weak on theory supporting such coding (it does warn you about it being more practically than theoretically oriented) and it treats lightly or side skips carrier recovery and filtering.

It should be more explanatory and complete
The contents of the book is not bad, however, in spite of being a basic book, it should cover more important simulation details and important issues of Digital Communication systems.
