Great Value! Relatively Intuitive with room for Mastery! Be mindful of impact to your phone.
Happy with this as my first drone! Did a lot of research on beginner drones vs more intermediate. I originally ordered a DJI, but it wound up having issues at customs and had to be returned. They were great about refunding me, but I decided to look for something I could more easily get into my hands, and this FIMI Mini 3 4K has fit my "newbie" needs, and I believe it will last even into some more practiced and intermediate use with time.I'm using an iPhone 11 and have not experienced connectivity issues as some other reviewers have. I've only done a handful of short flights to tinker with the different control schemes (still haven't settled on which one I want to commit to). But so far, no issues or challenges with startup, calibration, or controls. However, it's worth noting that since you are using a phone as your interface, it DOES get hot! The cable that connects phone and controller allows you to keep your phone case on, which is nice. But it's charging your phone at the same time, which adds to the heat buildup. I've not had any overheat issues yet, but we are now getting into summer (in AZ). So, I will update this review if that happens. Also of note, and depending on your situation, it can be difficult to see the screen in bright sunlight.I purchased this sunshade to help with the glare (mult sizes avail):https://amzn.to/4keG4X3I also recommend this fast charger with 3-way split cable so you can charge both batteries and your controller at the same time:https://amzn.to/4mAici8

This drone saved us
Hi I originally thought this drone was absolutely useless it wouldn’t connect as I had it it was a paper weight. I had to switch from using my IPhone to using my android tablet and it worked fine . It does freeze here and there and I have had it fly and crash it self but all that doesn’t matter . My family and I were recently caught in the fires in Altadena and Pasadena in the Eaton fire . This drone saved us I don’t know how else to say it . I was able to fly in low visibility Smokey / ash / ember conditions , the moderate to high gusts of winds (at the time 15 mph consistent with gusts 20 - 30 mph ) that pushed the drone around were semi easily controlled and corrected , the gimbal kept on point with 0 interference with picture quality, I was able to use the SAR mode to determine how far fires were burning to my neighborhood as well as my city . The battery life was 30 mins tops but still charging in between uses with the warning of low battery kept things manageable. I was able to go 300 feet up to see fires up to 3 miles away not with huge detail but detail enough I could determine where the fires we located in reference to my self . The build quality over all I would most definitely buy again with out hesitation. It is by far the most useful item I have ever acquired for my bug out emergency key . I can also charge in with my usb c in my truck or solar trickle charger . All in all this drone saved my neighborhood from burning being able to distinguish if smoke , fire or any problems were occurring in my general vicinity able my neighbors and my self to protect our neighborhood. I did lose 1 family home to this fire but I saved 2 of my family homes as well as my other neighborhood . If you need a drone that can take the abuse of a natural disaster and still come out working fine I would suggest with out a doubt to buy this drone . Just have an android handy it doesn’t like IOS .

An absolutely frustrating disappointment!
This was one of my worst experiences with a product in my 64 years of life! I spent approx $400 bucks thinking I'd go with a good, middle class product and enjoy it for a long time! What a disappointing mistake!- 1st What sold me... The product description, it covered all the bases and then some! And then...-2nd Receiving the drone, it took forever to pair with iPhone to the frustrating point I wanted to send it back! Yes, it was that bad! Finally paired and my excitement level heightened... But then...-3rd The battery life drained from dinkin' around trying to pair it. And the few minutes of battery life that remained got chewed up with the dizzy thing's erratic behavior! "Ok, I thought it might be me not fully understanding something?" Called it quits for now.-4th. It took beyond ridiculously long to recharge! I took the time to scour and digest the pdf manual! Now I got this thing! Ha!-5th Two days later, weather was good, very slight breeze, time to fly After a few "touch n' goes" I was starting to have fun, BUT... it started to freak out again! Erratic flight like it had a mind of it's own! Fortunately, it was close enough where I plucked it out of the air! Yup! Grabbed it's underside while in flight and was able to turn it off! (My old Spidey/Ninja skills at their best! 😂) Shut everything down and frustratingly rebooted. And then...-6th Batteries drained, try next day... As you can tell, the batteries drain quickly. But later read, best use is between about 55° - 80°, and wind should be minimal! Next day struggled with a cpl touch n' goes. Hit the RTH button and it started to land which I thought was cool until it pulled an Ellon Musk on me! It landed then jumped up off the platform and flipped! Bounced itself to a 18" drop to the ground! Picked the dizzy thing up, all "appeared" to be good, BUT... Now the Gimbal was shot! Camera couldn't be directed in any direction! Battery was now done so that wad it for the day! Back inside, the camera rotated smooth and free in every direction. I'd read where other guys crashed their drones many times without issue. Should a back flop of 18" have rendered this "high quality" camera, high quality drone inoperative? Gets better...-7 It's been a week of mishaps. Read and reread the manual. Finally Amazon said I could send it back, so I boxed it up. Weather here in wintery PA was bad so I couldn't drive to the nearest Kohls right away as they're a half hour away. With winding, hilly, snowy roads, the mountain logging roads I live on were glare ice, I was land locked! Oh well, more time to research drones. Now I'm finding a lot of these drones are having similar issues! But one last idea! So I unboxed everything again, "REINSTALLED" the app and spent forever pairing it again! All to no avail. This piece of over priced plastic was just as bad as before! Boxed it up again, weather cleared and back it went! "BUT!!!!!"As of this review, it's been over a week since I dropped the drone off at Kohls. From Kohl's here in PA to the return center in NJ is about a 3 hr drive and... It's still "in transit!" WHAT!So do your homework and check the negative reviews. Don't settle on the 5 star happy reviews either. Notice how most of these drones have the same footprint! And have the same issues! Remember, even on YT they're trying to sell a product so all the reviews are wonderful. Do your research then make your decision.I really really wanted this thing to work too! Absolute disappointment!
