Great set of oil pastels with good price/performance ratio
Ordered this with Rushed delivery and received it in time. This delivery idea is really convenient.I did a small Onion sketch using 4 colours of the Zorn Palette on Brustro Tan sketchbook(100GSM)Also you can see the swatches on Brustro Grey paper sketchbook(120GSM)Pros:1) 48 shades (though few of them are flourescent)2} Creamy application which is great for blending. (Refer Onion sketch)3) Layering ability is adequate but could be better. (Check Layering done on the onion surface)4) Works well on toned paper (refer swatches on Brustro grey sketchbook)Cons:1) Not a con but, the sticks are slightly messy &you can get a lot of the pigment on your hands/clothes quickly2) The product packaging could be more sturdier.3) They could provide another set with larger sticks and lesser colours ORopen stock of these pastels.Overall, I realy liked these pastels for their price/performanceratio (847/- in freedom sale) & these are my 2nd favourite productfrom Brustro after their Coloured pencils. These are my go-to oil pastels after gallery(expensive but more buttery on paper)

Excellent set of pastels, albeit with a few drawbacks
The media could not be loaded. I have the lovely mungyo gallery 48 set so I couldn't help comparing the brustro set with those adorable colors and here are my thoughts:Pros:1. Impeccable packaging. I absolutely love the way these babies are packed and this stunning artwork on the cover.2. Very, very creamy and buttery. Very similar to mungyo gallery in this respect.3. I am enchanted by the earth tones present in this set, which is the primary reason I bought it.4. Blends like a dream. These pastels are softer than mungyo gallery ones so they actually blend better.5. Layers well too, but not as well as the gallery ones6. The white is much more opaque than the gallery. It is really easy to give highlights with the white here.7. Despite the drawbacks, they are still a great deal for the price.Cons:1. It has a gasoline like smell which is quite unsettling. The smell is kinda strong, so it's difficult to ignore it. May be artists who are used to the smell of turpentine will not find this a problem2. The flourescent colors, although lovely, are a little streaky. On blending, they do turn a little patchy. If blended with fingers and tissue, most of the pigment comes off, leaving behind a dull erased stain of color.3. The gold and silver are extremely streaky and patchy. They don't really inpire me to create anything with them. Their blending ability is still worse than the flourescent colors.4. The way to effectively work with the neon colors is to apply some pressure while applying the stick so that it releases some chunks of pigment, which can then be evenly rubbed into the paper. That's when the colors look amazing. I've used this technique on the gray paper. BUT THEY DO NOT LAYER WELL.My personal opinion is that, despite the drawbacks, they still are a wonderful set and worth trying out. However, I would prefer shelling out a few hundred bucks more to get the gallery 48 set because the colors there are much more practical and all the colors are very consistent.

Brustro Oil pastels Review - Good quality at affordable price!
The package they come in is compact which is easy to store and use. As you open them, the first thing you notice is how bright and vibrant the shades are!48 set has a lovely collection of Bright colours, Pastels, Neons and Metallics too!The size and shape is great to hold and use and even with a lot of pressure, they didn't break. These pastels are very smooth and easy to blend with even little pressure. I also tried blending with paper towel & Cotton swab - both worked well. So far, I have used them on Watercolor paper – (Canson Montval) & Black Paper - worked well on both! For the Northern Lights art, I used 3+ layers and the colors are quite opaque, especially the white! It worked great even on black for the mountains, you can see the pictures for reference.Personally, I'd say they are great, especially for Rs.999 the quality is fantastic! I wanted to try oil pastels for quite some time now and I'm thoroughly enjoying using these.
