Provides a very cost effective method to digitize cassettes
Wow! This Reshow cassette deck has a modern built-in USB-C port so you can digitize your cassettes to MP3/ACC files on your computer using the free windows audio recording software, Audacity. The Reshow device is Plug & Play, no Windows drivers need to be installed to use it. Simply download, Audacity for FREE, upon opening it for the first time, make sure to edit "Audio Setup", scroll down to "Recording Device", make sure to choose "Primary Sound Capture Device". That's it! Then to record a cassette, press the Record button in Audacity, then press Play on the Reshow. Want to take your recording a step further? Use the Noise Removal tool to sample a section of blank cassette recording (no intended audio playing) and it will remove the hiss and/or hum of the tape cassette for a nearly flawless digital recording. You can thank me later for these useful tips.

Great Customer Service
This Reshow device has worked great. I've converted about a dozen cassette tapes to digital format. The Reshow folks have been great to work with. The first device I had would not rewind or fast forward properly. They refunded it quickly. I ordered a different device which was not satisfactory. They refunded it quickly again. I reordered the original device. This time it is perfect. I understand that not everything works perfectly. I appreciate how supportive Reshow has been in making it right.

Worth the $
Like most people, I've switched to streaming services for most of my music listening. I still have a CD player and have kept some of my favorite CDs. I also have a turntable for that analog experience. But, my expensive(at the time) Nakamichi cassette deck stopped working years ago. I ran across a cassette tape a couple months ago that I've been wanting to listen to. But, didn't have a working cassette player. So, I went on to Amazon and found a few cassette players. There was one that was even less expensive than this but it didn't have a built-in speaker. So, I spent an extra $10 and got this little guy. It worked to play my tape of interest and a few others I ran across. The sound quality isn't great, but it's not terrible either. If you plug in some headphones, it's not too bad. There's some wow and flutter, but again, not a deal-breaker. It even has a cable to dub your tapes onto a computer using Audacity. So, is it a spectacular cassette player? No. Is it worth the money? Absolutely! In terms of cost/benefit, it's a great deal.

Constant drumming/thumping Sound Quality
Very disappointed in the sound quality. From the beginning there was a noticable drumming sound that unfortunately transferred over to the recording. This artifact was on all tapes so wasn't present in the cassette. I'm hoping this is just a defective model and plan to exchange it for a different one and see if it works better. Also, the Audacity instructions don't match up with the program anymore however, I was able to eventually figure it out. ****So I received the replacement today. Once again the drumming was present. However, I took a stab in the dark that audacity had the capability to remove the background noise. It does. I tried it with one side of a tape and it worked perfectly. Thought I was good to go with the work around. Flipped the tape over and I have tried for 3 hours to convert the other side. The software is no longer capable and since the instructions with the tape recorder don't match with Audicity menu there is no way to troubleshoot. I'm giving up and trying a different company. Do not recommend this piece of equipment unless you are very familiar with audio recording programs. In my opinion this operation is NOT plug and play.

Transfer of audio conversations from cassette to Mac
I recommend this product for anyone who has cassettes containing conversations with relatives who are no longer living. The USB to USB transfer works well with Quick Time Player on a Mac and provides surprisingly excellent quality. Note: the quality is not as good for transferring music.

Something that makes you feel nostalgic for a small price :)
I read the reviews and a lot of people don’t like the recording option but I bought this plainly for the enjoyment of play and listening to my cassettes, once I got it I immediately put some AA batteries in and the sound from the speaker was surprising loud! Put my headphones in a it was clear and didn’t have any issues! There is no auto reverse but that’s alright I just have to reverse the cassettes manually. Playing it out loud with no ads or phones gives me a nostalgic warm feeling of being a kid again and I’m in love! Beautiful color and buttons are sturdy! Unfortunately there is no belt clip but I can just buy one to attach or make my own:) affordable and plays music what else can a girl ask for!

Here are Updated Instructions for Newer Version of Audacity as of May 2025
Worked perfectly right out of the box. Know that the printed instructions that come with it are out of date and don't correspond to the interface of the latest version of Audacity. I figured it out, though, and want to share that you go to Edit ->Preferences ->Audio Settings ->Record [Set to Microsoft Sound Mapper - Input]. Click on Recording in the left pane and put a check in the box labeled Sound Activated Recording and Audible Input Monitoring, the latter if you want to hear the song through you device's speakers rather than the cassette unit. Also, the instructions say it saves the music as a 128 MP3 file but if you choose Export you have plenty of format options to save, from WAV to a 320 MP3 file. Once you save your file, be sure to right click on it and enter the metadata if you plan to drop it into your music library.

Ok, for the price
Works as a Walkman ok but will not connect to the dash of my ‘25 Chevy Trax, so cheap but adequate. Plastic body stays grounded with no buzzing unlike other metal models of this type but works best on AC on 60 minute tapes. Had a Father’s Day $25 gift card so it ended up costing me about $10! So it can replace my old, non-working Walkman.
