ProFormCarbon Treadmills: Treadmills for Walking and Running with Built-in Fan and SpaceSaver Design

The BRAND NEW FOR 2024 ProForm Carbon TLX is an outstanding very attractive quality-built treadmill at a great price! After doing a lot of research and comparing treadmills in the $1,000 - $1,500 price range from all the major manufacturers I purchased this one on sale for just $850 and I'm very happy with it. The original manufacturer's retail price in early 2024 was $1,000 but the price on Amazon tends to fluctuate slightly up and down all the time for no apparent reason. Despite this inconsistent pricing the ProForm Carbon TLX is a great purchase and an outstanding value.The ProForm Carbon TLX comes very well-packed and partially assembled in a large heavy-duty reinforced cardboard box that weighs 250+ lbs so I'm glad I paid the extra $20 for room-of-choice delivery. This treadmill has all the major features and functions of the more expensive treadmills without the big pricy high-definition touchscreen or other unnecessary computerized fitness monitoring "gimmicks" which are seldom, if ever, used. The ProForm Carbon TLX is designed and built to support users up to 300 lbs in weight. It has a powerful heavy-duty 3-hp electric motor, fully adjustable speeds from 1-12 mph, up to 12-degrees in adjustable incline, and a full-size 60-inch-long cushioned running deck... something you won't find on most treadmills in this price range. The treadmill also has a nice built-in 3-speed electric fan to keep you cool and two built-in speakers that can be connected to your smartphone or tablet so you can listen to music or watch a movie. All of these features are controlled with "Quick-Access" touch-buttons conveniently located on the nicely designed center console. The console also has a very convenient built-in shelf that holds your smartphone or tablet for easy viewing.The build quality of the ProForm Carbon TLX is excellent and the precision machined parts made the treadmill's assembly very easy to do although you will need two people for the job. My wife supplied the extra pair of hands needed and helped me by holding some of the pieces in place while I bolted everything together. It took us about an hour total and I encountered no problems with poorly fitting or missing parts. There is nothing more frustrating than poorly fitting, or worse yet, missing parts! I should also mention that a very nice set of tools needed for assembly are included so you don't need to supply any of your own tools... an unexpected pleasant surprise!My wife and I have both been using this treadmill to run and walk a combined total of 5 to 7 miles every day for the past 6 months and we absolutely love it! My wife really enjoys using the fan to keep her cool and using the built-in speakers to listen to her music during her workouts. I like how quiet and smooth the motor and belt run for both running and walking and having instant access to all of my exercise information on the full-color display screen. I also like how easily the running deck folds up and out of the way so the treadmill doesn't take up a lot of room when you're not using it.One last thing definitely worth mentioning is that you don't have to have Internet access or register or sign up for the 30-day free trial of the online iFIT exercise program before you can turn on and operate the treadmill as several uninformed people in these reviews claim. My wife and I chose not to use iFIT because we didn't want to pay the monthly subscription fee for it. We use the ProForm Carbon TLX and all of its features in the manufacturer's standard manual mode. All you have to do to use the treadmill this way is simply press and hold down the blue iFIT button on the console for about 10-15 seconds and the iFIT exercise program is bypassed and the treadmill will operate perfectly... no iFIT registration or Internet needed. You only have to do this one time... not every time you turn on the treadmill.In summary, the ProForm Carbon TLX is an outstanding very attractive quality-built treadmill with all the features you need at a very reasonable price. None of the other treadmills in its price range can match the value, performance and quality of the ProForm Carbon TLX. I highly recommend it and would definitely purchase it again!

This treadmill is up there with what you’d expect from a commercial gym treadmill. I researched multiple options before purchasing and am so happy I landed on this Pro Form carbon TLX. Putting it together wasn’t entirely difficult and since then I’ve had zero issues with performance or operation. It turns right on every time, no hiccups in speed (I’ve had this happen on other treadmills), and the incline function works great. I get a great workout on this thing 5x per week and I’ve been at it a few months. I usually either do 3mph walks at a 10% incline or jog at about 4.5mph and this treadmill holds up every time. Great value for your money!

I’ve been using this treadmill for a couple of months now, and overall, I’m impressed with its performance. The machine feels sturdy, the motor runs quietly, and the various speed and incline settings make it great for both walking and intense running sessions. The display is user-friendly, there is no fan but I knew that going in, I just bought a little fan that can clip on and it works better than any treadmill fan I've ever used.The one issue I encountered was that the belt was dangerously loose when I first set it up. If I tried to run on it the belt would slip drastically and cause me to stumble or lose my footing (I weigh 215lb). It required a lot of adjusting to get it running smoothly. The included manual gave clear instructions on how to tighten it, but they recommended unplugging the machine, tightening it a quarter turn on each side, plugging it back in, and testing it out. After doing that about 6 times I felt like I was getting nowhere. I turned it a full 3 rotations on each side and it was still loose, I eventually I got it right. It feels pretty tight and the belt stops quicker than most treadmills, but it works great.Honestly, If I could, I'd give the treadmill 3.5 stars. I don't think this issue is enough for 3 stars, but I don't know if it's acceptable enough for 4 stars.Aside from that initial hiccup, this treadmill has been a fantastic addition to my fitness routine. It’s a great value for the price, and I’d still recommend it, with a fair warning, to anyone looking for a reliable home treadmill!

Easy to assemble and works well. It was very heavy as indicated in the description. It was delivered by 2 people and they took extreme care to get it to me safely. The box was intimidating when opened, but it took my husband less than 30 minutes to put this together. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. I love the fact that is folds up as that give me more space after doing my workout. I love the incline feature and the speed increase options in .10 increments. I used to have a Nordic Trac and this machine is less expensive and works as well or even better that that product. Ive use this daily for the past 5 months and have experienced no issues. Well worth the price.

Overall, I’m really happy with this purchase. The ProForm Carbon TLX treadmill feels sturdy and performs well for both walking and running. The speed and incline range (0-12 MPH and 0-12%) give you a lot of flexibility, and the ProShox cushioning is noticeably easier on the joints compared to older models I’ve used. I also love that it folds up pretty easily—great for saving space when not in use.The built-in fan is a nice touch, though it’s not super powerful. Still, it’s appreciated during longer runs. The device shelf with USB-C charging is also convenient for keeping your phone or tablet nearby during workouts.That said, the customer support experience could be improved. I had a small question about the iFIT integration and had trouble getting a timely, helpful response. If you're not planning to subscribe to iFIT, be aware that some features feel a little limited without it—but the treadmill works just fine on its own too.In short: great treadmill for the price, solid performance and design.
