WWZMDiB 5 Pcs DS18B20 Temperature Sensor Probe High-Accuracy Waterproof Equipped with 5 Pcs 4.7K resistors for Arduino Raspberry Pi DIY

No surprises, exactly as advertised. Have been using these for months now in a temperature monitoring app.

Overall, this is a good product and I would purchase again. So here's the full story. I'm using 3 of these in 1 Arduino project as a replacement for my original DHT22's. Making this change required adding a 4.7K pull-up resister to the circuit board. In addition, the DS18B20 required that I change temp sensor libraries. The DS18B220 requires that you use the DallasTemperature library, but that's readily available so o no problem there either.Be aware that the resisters shipped with this product are 47K. resisters. But the DS18B20 requires a 4.7K resister. Duh, stupid me. I blindly use the resisters that shipped with it and had problems. Once I replaced them with the proper 4.7K resister, the problems went away.The Good:1) Running 3 sensors, all next to each other, are at most 0.75 of a degree F of each other. That's within the stated spec. But they usually do better that with the norm being only 0.25 of a degree variation.2) I like the ling WATER PROOD cable. Ideal for outdoor use.3) Excellent temperature range. Way better than even the DHT22.The Bad:1) They're sloooow. To read 3 temp sensors in one pass on different channels can take up to 2 seconds. DHT22's are much faster.2) You may need to modify your circuit board to add the 4.7k resister that the DHT22 does not need.3) The special device library is not compatible with the more standard DHT sensor library, so you will need to code accordingly.Overall, this sensor works good and has it's place.

Working on a esp32 project using two of these and they seem to be very accurate. Tested them at 32 F (0 C) and they were only .2 high which easily could have been my test setup. Have not tested at high temp but there isn't any reason to doubt they wouldn't be accurate there.

I just finished a project to monitor the coolant temperature of my 60W laser cutter/etcher.This was one of 2 sensors (temperature and flow rate) that I used. This sensor works flawlessly. I only gave it 4 stars because the supplied resistors were not the correct ones listed on the Amazon page. I had to supply my own. I mounted the resistors on a prototyping board and created a custom cable with both sensors at my water reservoir.

Works well with arduino if you know how that stuff works. Easy to read annalog signal.

I have only used 1 of the set of 5 probes, and only for a few hours, but it seems to work fine so far. The connection wires are super thin so care must be taken when soldering/stripping. The crazy thing is (as other reviewers have mentioned) the resistors shipped with the probes were the wrong rating ... WAY off. As mentioned here, the recommended pull-up resistor for this sensor is 4.7k ohms. In my case, the resistors were only 4.7 OHMS!! So low in fact that the audible tone on my multimeter went off, telling me that I basically was measuring a dead short. If you run a 5V power source (e.g., Raspberry Pi) across one of those, you would get more than 1 amp! These resistors are super tiny, and would certainly fry at way lower current. I guess you get what you pay for.
