HP EliteDesk 800 G1 Tiny Computer Micro Tower PC, Intel Core i5, 8 GB Ram, 500 GB HDD, WiFi Windows 10 Pro (Renewed)

Product came as advertised. The top of the case seems to be covered with some kind of vinyl wrap, which blends in so well with the existing finish that most probably would not notice it was there. Presentation was overall excellent. packaging worked as expected.Internals were not as shining in their greatness (see photos), but everything did work upon inspection and testing.I'll include some notable good and bad bullet points here:GOOD:- Wireless adapter was included, correctly installed, and functional- Thermal paste seems to have been re-applied and is even a little more than may be totally necessary. Cooler was undamaged and had good contact with the processor.- Fan appears to have been spliced in or replaced at some point. Extremely quiet and almost inaudible from 3 feet away.- Ram was undamaged and appears to work correctly- Included mouse and keyboard are e-waste if you already have either, but a nice touch given the price point- CMOS battery was included and working- Included the cover for the antenna (back-left of the unit)- No obvious physical damage externally, case in good condition- Unit was cleanBAD:- SATA connector on the motherboard side was chewed up on one side. Unsure how this happened, but the damage did not seem to affect any of the pins, and it worked correctly without so much as electrical tape to hold it in.- M.2 2280 slot was missing the screw to hold the card in, as other reviews mentioned. I happened to have a spare, but be sure to have an M2x2.5mm screw handy if you intend to use an M.2 device. Because of the way the fan mounts on top of the M.2 slot, I wouldn't call this screw necessary, but it is preferable to having the drive loose in the case.- Hard drive was missing one of the attachment grommets + screws, also mentioned in other reviews. This does not seem to affect function but does allow the hard drive a worrying amount of movement. Not strictly important if you're not using the SATA drive bay or are using an SSD instead, however.5 stars because it's refurbished. You're not buying a new device, but you are buying one that works. The unit I ordered came from a company called TekRefurbs- YMMV if purchasing from a different seller.

I have set up dozens of windows PC's so this is not my first rodeo. First tried to do windows updates - The system would not update windows. About half of the updates succeeded, half failed. Next tried to create a restore thumb drive of system using windows built in application. It would not create the image, just stuck in a loop. System response was very slow, click on something, wait, wait, wait... And this is just moving around in the OS setting it up. Called tech support, they were busy and got no answer. Three hours in and I'm done, its going back to Amazon. Now don't you know that the system reset would not work either! Two more hours trying to reset the system and tech support did call me back but they were no help. I can not recommend this system based on my experience. Buy something else.

Though I never take my computer off my desk, my last two computers were laptops due to the price of a good tower. This HP EliteDesk is the answer to all my needs. Very fast with plenty of storage. It might not be the perfect solution for the serious gamers, but for the rest of us, it's an excellent budget-minded option. From what I've done with it so far, it appears to be one of the best computer decisions I've ever made.

Excellent product I just had some problems connecting the second monitor.

I have been very pleased with this little pc. It was much smaller than I expected, but that just meant I didn’t have to take up valuable desk space. I’m considering getting my daughter one for college to supplement her chrome book.Setup only took a few minutes - basically connect to the internet & go.I did not care for the keyboard and mouse that came in the box. I was only expecting the pc, anyway, so I just connected the accessories I already had.I think this is a great solution to a home computer.

In the end I got the computer as listed and it seems to work OK, but...The first computer sent had a physically broken power button and would not power on. The replacement I received had the wrong power supply included that did not fit. Fortunately I had not yet returned the first computer so I was able to swap it out and get a working computer. But two for two I received computers that HAD to have been shipped out in the unusable state I received them.Also, there has been some notations about the Wi-Fi and whether it is a dongle or internally included. Mine had in installed internally, but the included instructions said to plug the Wi-Fi dongle into the cpu.Also, mine was not a clean wipe fresh install of windows. I had programs already installed, like chrome and 7zip. After I let it run for a while I observed some critical errors popping up in the event viewer. I was able to run a scan and it found missing windows files and was able to restore them.Bottom line, this can be a good machine for the price you are paying but you need to be prepared for an exchange or two before getting one that works and you might want to have a bit of computer knowledge so you can assess the system and fix any issues there.

Ended up a receiving a PC that wouldn't turn on. Blinking red light and beeping. Contacted Amazon to get a replacement. Sent everything back that was included per instructions. Took weeks for the replacement to arrive (assuming it's the replacement and not the same one I sent) only for it to just be the PC unit: no keyboard, mouse, Wi-Fi adapter or power cord. Chatted with Amazon support to request the parts that were missing and was told I'd get an email with delivery information. Couple days later, I chatted again and was told I was issued a full refund. Now I have to go find the cord to go with this PC that may not even work.
