The reason you are probably reading reviews on this product is because you are wondering if the spring lock is strong. The short answer is YES. This is obviously a small piece of plastic with a small spring in it, so can you get a spring that will hold anything and everything in place - no. But for the size of the clip, my experience is that the spring is stronger than you would expect. I am using these to hold my bungee cords in place over the fabric top secured to a pole on a beach tent. The clips that came with the tent were not as strong as these replacement clips, so I am happy with this purchase!

Best swimsuit drawstring device! I live in Fl. and wear swim trunks much of the time. But being 70+ makes it difficult to tie a bow knot with old fingers. These are a treat, since I noticed a similar device in one of my wife's tote bags.The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that some lace ends are difficult to pass through the device, but doable with the help of needle-nose pliers. But then again, it's the one and only time for that procedure.

We purchased these for my husband’s jogging pants/shorts. He has issues keeping those long strings tight and in check. Now that we’ve added them to his clothes, we’ve eliminated the constant pulling and retying of the draw strings. They were easy to add and are easy to use. So far no issues washing and drying. I would definitely recommend giving these a try.
