It sticks
Can't do a full pattern because before it makes a full rotation it gets stuck in one of the corners and ruins the design on whatever you're you happen to be attempting to decorate.

Spirograph for drawing on your windows
I always wanted to own a Spirograph when I was a kid because I thought it would be a lot of fun. I never got one but having kids is a great excuse for playing with things yourself! This version is unique in that it is meant to be used on a window (or whiteboard) and comes with wet-erase markers instead of pens. The markers are easy to see on the window and wipe off easily and completely. There are storage for the four markers right on the toy so that they don’t get lost. The biggest complaint I have about this is that you have to have one person hold the spirograph against the window while the other person draws because it doesn’t stay suctioned itself. Alternatively, you could use pens on a counter or table top with this. There are more than 20 different shapes that you can use to create your artwork with. This says ages 7+. I think it’s because you have to have a bit of finesse to not move the markers around inside the spirograph too quickly or else it doesn’t turn out right. With some instruction, younger kids could use this without too much frustration. I would rate this as 5+ (I have a 6-year-old and it works fine for him). This would make a unique gift for an art-loving kid.

CLEVER SPIROGRAPH SET!
I have a similar Spirograph set (the Doodle Pad) which works similarly to this product. The basic idea is that you have a wheel inside a notched frame which bumps the wheel forward with every loop you draw. It's exceedingly clever. In this set, there is only one wheel, and it is attached. That ought to make the entire process of drawing vertically go much more smoothly. Unfortunately, you do have to hold the frame in place against the glass. There are little rubber feet on the back, but those will only help a little.Make sure you use the enclosed markers which clean off easily with just water. It's a clever product. Expect some seriously decorated windows and mirrors!

Unstable, Can barely see
ok, I love my spirographs, my daughter loves them, we love them together so much! We have a light up animation one that is SUPER cool. Alas, this one falls well below acceptable and while it will remain out near our deck door, I highly doubt anyone will use it.it's totally unstable and an adult would not be able to hold its still -- which is vital for such a drawing apparatus. the markers are insanely light -- we can not see our designs at ALL. They kinda sorta look like stains or discolorations if you dont know they are there. The pens in addition to being extremely lightweight -- also dont really stay clipped onto the frame very well. And the caps dont stay on, which is essential for this kind activity. No desk or surface to lay them on, kept on rolling and falling all over. Sigh.Really subpar and not thought out very well ... at all. Really should be a 2, as doubt anyone will really enjoy using this or use more than once.(NOTE ON VINE REVIEWS -- I cant believe some vine reviewers. Clearly they are selling these things and not even opening them much less using them. We are supposed to help others by providing legit insights and constructive critiques ... This is a kids toy and I can't imagine anyone giving this a 5 star rating and conveying to other parents that their hard earned money is worth spending on this. Sigh. The vine badge should mean something but I advise people to read such reviews with a grain of salt.)

Creative funtime
I have a great time creating designs using this spirograph with my nieces! It provides them with a real sense of confidence to create and decorate something beautiful. We used it on a mirror in their room, sliding glass doors and we also use it on a dry erase board. Everything stores away nicely in the box it came in when we're finished using it. It's easy to wipe surfaces clean, but I've also used those eyeglass cleaning wipes to give it an extra wipe down occassionally and that gets rid of any build up that might be left behind after we've used it for a long period time.

Fun But For WINDOWS Only
This is a novel Spirograph kit for kids to make fun designs on windows, mirrors, and sliding glass doors. This will actually work on paper with regular markers if you have markers with tips that will fit the Spirograph pieces, but frankly you will want to be cautious about mixing “media” because you definitely don’t want the kids accidentally using a permanent marker on a wall! While the included markers are washable, I did NOT test these on any walls! Kids being kids, I would strongly recommend that you stick strictly with glass when presenting them with this kit and providing the associated instructions and cautions. This works as intended, but my five-star rating comes with that warning!

Difficult to use, markers don't really work. PASS on this one.
I so much love spirographs and even though I got this for my kids (5 and 9 year old), I was really excited to try it myself. What a let down. This thing is really awkward to use. It does not stay, pieces keep slipping or falling out, the markers are barely working - they are super light. We have other window markers at home that are super bright, So I know it can be done. Shame on Spirograph company for letting this through to the market. Clearly they have not tested their own product.
