Great buy!!!
Good quality product at a much lower cost than name brands. I cut a lot of firewood with my chainsaw and this will protect my head and hearing and eyes. Easy to put together with both mesh and solid face shields (easily interchangeable). Fits well and looks sturdy.

Pleased far beyond all my expectations.
I never expected to be so totally pleased by this purchase.I have used it with a gas chainsaw, a battery operated pole saw, hedge trimmer, and weedeater. It is very light weight and inner aeration works so efficiently that even when working in the sun I never felt hot. In the back of the hard hat, a tightening dial knob enables absolute control on safely setting the helmet on one's head. After tightening, it will not get loose, will faithfully follow every head's movement. It is comfortable at all times and very easy to remove.Compared to 3 different sound protection devices [all ear muffs] I have used before, this one is by far the best. I used it with a gas powered chainsaw and was amazed by the comfort level and how it blotted off the sound. Actually, one ought to be aware of the ear muffs superior efficiency over previous systems: the wearer will definitely be oblivious to the presence of anyone out of sight behind or beside him/her. Potential helpers or bystanders ought to be warned beforehand.I haven't yet used the metal mesh visor, only the polycarbonate one. For obvious safety reasons, I prefer wearing my glasses when using my chainsaw. That was a huge hassle with wearing safety goggles; I also had to stop frequently to wipe off the fog on the goggles. With this visor, I wore my glasses without any hindrance, and the visor never fogged up. I worked and worked without interruption. Moreover, the polycarbonate visor is so transparent that I would even forget it was there... and caught myself at trying to scratch my nose! I am convinced that the difference between goggles and this visor adds greatly to my safety. This safety helmet is the kind of item that makes one wonders "how could have I done for so long without it?" I purchased one, as a 2022 Christmas gift, for one of my sons in law who lives in the country.

solid, comfortable, economical; assembly not quite idiot-proof
Having just completed my first hour of chainsawing wearing the NoCry forestry helmet, I am of the opinion it is a solid, comfortable, and economical product. It is heavy plastic, but lightweight on the head. The headband expands to accommodate my large cranium -- 24 1/2”, about a 7 ¾ hat size—and there might be another ¼” to its capacity. The headband knob doesn’t slip – it holds the helmet firm on the head. The face-screen is great – better protection than safety glasses, and no more fogging up. The face-screen clicks cleanly between the up and down positions. The ear muffs fit my ears snugly and comfortably, and mitigate sound as well as any I have ever used.I see no reason to spend more money than this on a helmet for chainsawing and similar activities.Steps 2 and 3 of the assembling the helmet -- attaching the screen and ear muffs -- are straightforward, as shown in the No Cry’s printed instructions and YouTube video, and from eyeballing the parts. Step 1 – installing the suspension system – not so much. I struggled with it for 90 minutes, finding not much help in the video or in close-up looks at photographs. Those materials were not quite idiot-proof. On a Sunday afternoon, my daughter, who is a professional engineer with a mathematics degree, came to visit. She attacked the problem for 30 minutes, and solved it.What I wasn’t able to visualize was that at the front of the helmet, the strap needs to be looped around the business end of the key, so that a portion of the strap goes into the slot when the key is inserted. In my photo, my fingers are holding back the headband so that the key and slot are more easily visible. (The rear keys and slots work differently, at least the way my helmet ended up.)NoCry was very quick to respond to my e-mails and to offer satisfaction (for what turned out to be my obtuseness, which probably included the inadequacy of my description and photographs of what seemed to be the problem).Raino from NoCry told me other customers have experienced difficulty installing the suspension (and Amazon reviews bear this out). He said NoCry has identified a gap in their instructional materials, and was working to update those materials.I recommend the helmet.I also recommend having safety gear before you start chainsawing, as a general matter. I should not have been chainsawing without it. It appeared to me that maybe half the Amazon reviewers of this and similar products had decided to purchase safety gear (helmet with face shield, and chaps, and maybe forearm and hand protection) only after experiencing a near miss or an actual injury (including an eye injury) due to lack of adequate gear.

Top Notch. Better Hearing Protection Than Husqvarna. EXCELLENT Design
This is a great helmet and you shouldn't let the price lead you to believe it's not. It's comfortable. The pieces work well (the headstrap adjustment, the hearing protectors, the face shield..) It's really great. I got a simpler thing to start with and it was a bother-- my ear muffs didn't work well with it, and it slip around. I looked into combo helmets, and settled on this, but there's no "settling"-- it's really, really, good.I wish the hearing muffs were even better than they are, but they are excellent. I'll probably buy one for my son to use when we're out there together.

QUALITY PRODUCT AT A GREAT VALUE
I bought this to wear while using my heavy duty push behind wheel trimmer. I have a rural property that gets high brush growth and there is a lot of hidden small rocks/gravel. Occasionally I get a splattering of this on my face. I always used safety glasses and a mask but my face would get stung by the debris and I worried about getting a bad hit. SO... I invested in this item for protection. It's a good quality hardhat and comfortable to wear. Easy to adjust the band for fitting. I like that you have the option to use the screen or clear mask for protection. I'm working out in the hot sun so I choose to use the wire mesh as it gives me a little ventilation. It gives me the protection and peace of mind that I needed. Also... I really didn't want to use the earmuffs and I found that they are really easy to remove. The screen or clear mask is easy to put on or remove. Occasionally I use an electric grinder that produces a lot of sparks. Although I use safety glasses, I will also use the clear mask for additional protection/safety.
