Two of these will be used outside, fully exposed to the elements. I needed an all weather enclosure that wouldn't break the bank for interconnecting low voltage wiring. They are very affordable and have hinged doors that snap lock. These doors will not see daily use by me that's for sure but at least the connectors will be accessible. You are not buying name brand "electrical trade" box construction with these, that is certain. I purchased them with their cost/quality in mind and I believe they will survive for my purposes.

This is a good quality weather tight box with a soft rubber like ring around the lid so that it seals when the lid is closed. The chassis plate in the bottom is of the same quality plastic as the rest of the box and is held in place with two screws with the option of securing it with two more. I am configuring this for a WIFI switch to be mounted in the attic. I chose the plastic or non metallic box so as not to have to have an external antenna. The box has four detachable mounting ears that attach to each rear corner and extend out from the corner to make mounting easy. Overall, great buy for the money and the next best thing to a metal container.

Works as designed

These boxes are great for weather proofing outdoor electrical work. I use them to keep my robot lawn mower charging station power adapters dry in all weather conditions.

3 out of 5 starsIt’s okay, does the job for light useThe box looks good and comes with everything shown, like the little mounting plate and the cable fittings. I used it for a small router setup outside and it’s held up alright so far. But honestly, the plastic feels kinda cheap and I’m not sure how it’ll last through real heavy rain or winter. For the price it’s not bad, just don’t expect something super heavy-duty.

We had an old box from the cable company on the outside of the house and it was a mess. We have never had cable, so the setup was from the previous home owners. I use coax for MoCA and a powered television antenna. I pulled all the old stuff out, and used this for a newer, cleaner setup. The box is nice because you can drill the holes wherever you want.
