Lovely well made, high quality prisim. I have located it in my kitchen window and at certain times of the day, usually late afternoon, the sun hits it and creates a small rainbow in my kitchen. I have to search for it because it does not always appear where you think it might be. It has been fun for my granddaughter and me to look for it. That is the reason I bought it and I am pleased with the results even if they are a challenge to find!!!Elizabeth

Arrived well packaged & is exactly what I expected. As other reviewrs have noted, you have to move it around to find the correct angle for the sun to hit it.

Worked exactly as expected to create some cool effects during my photo sessions.Of course you do need quite a bit of Light to work with us so if you’re doing anything outdoors, make sure it’s sunny outside.

To teach first grade students, I purchased this for my husband to help educate the properties of light in a fun and visual way. It took me a few minutes of messing around at night (package was delivered in the evening) to figure out that a flashlight isn't going to produce the multihued refraction you want, but if you use the natural outdoor daylight it will present you the rainbows.The prism itself is 6 inches long and heavier than I thought it would be, but it does arrive with a nice little keepsake silk adorned case to keep it unharmed while holding it secure. I'm sure this will be lovely to instruct with for decades to come. Thank you! 🌈🌈🌈

I bought this prism in June 2022 to show some young family members how light dispersion works. The prism was flawlessly made and came in a nice gift-quality little box. I was astonished to see that in bright sunlight I could generate a 6” x 6” or larger rainbow pattern of rich saturated colors. Beautiful! I’ve already purchased a second prism as a gift. Buyers who say this prism does not produce colors are not using it correctly. Sunlight is required because artificial light doesn’t contain all of the wavelengths, and LED flashlights produce mostly blue. The location of the spectrum band is dictated by the sun’s position in the sky. Around noon is the only time the colors will appear near your feet; earlier or later you will have to look at the color bands on a nearby wall. In the accompanying photo the color band is about 6 feet away from me and the sun was high in the sky.
