Shoes required for safe use
I accidentally knocked it off the counter and it landed on my bare foot. The tiltable large display was easy to read from the 5' distance down to my foot. Temperature readings came in fast and seemed accurate, but the reading may have been off due to proximity to the bone. The exit wound on the bottom of my foot speaks to how incredibly sharp this is; it is the sharpest meat thermometer I have ever seen and rivals the darts in my dart board. It is also the thinnest meat thermometer I have used which is appreciated since it left a very small and clean entry point on my foot; the tip diameter is comparable to throwing darts.I am both impressed and scared of this thermometer now.

Great Customer Service
I was very disappointed when I received this item. I really liked the looks of it but it did not appear to work When I went to return the item, Customer Service offered an easy fix. The digital thermometer now works very well. The gage is easy to read and the taperedl end makes it very accurate.
