Singer was the sewing machine name I grew up with. My mother taught me to sew with hers.I’ve had 2 other brands during my life but decided that for what will be my last it must be a Singer. Great machine, easy to use, plenty of options for different types of sewing.

High quality from Singer
Really sturdy machine that will work well with up to four layers of denim and light to medium leather, wouldn't used for biker leather or footwear

Easy to use
I wanted this machine for the singer quality also it has many features that are a godsend ie the needle down feature, it ties off at start and end also it cuts off for you,this is my second singer machine both are excellent.

Broken machine after only 10 months
I bought my sewing machine on 29th december and today the connector broke. So now i can't use my machine..I'm gonna contact the company where i bought it and hope there exchange it or at least fix it

Very good machine, getting the tension right is hell
It's a very good machine, I like that there are many stitch options however, there is a tension issue with this machine which has made me question whether or not to return it.I found that as long as the bobbin is full then I don't have any tension issues, however, once the bobbin thread goes low then you have to constantly that the bobbin out and tighten the thread.

Needle penetration is not great on thick seams
This is marketed as heavy duty but I would say not heavy duty at all. I often stops with the needle unable to penetrate seams in particular denim or layer of cotton. Which is what I’d bought it to do. This said it is a good machine in terms of sewing speed, stitches available, embroidery and the extra benefits of needle threader ( although there is a knack ) and thread cutting.The ability to have a higher foot press operation allowing you to get thicker fabric under the foot is helpful if you can then get the needle to penetrate( I often need to hand crank for the first couple of stitches) This is my bugbare otherwise I love it. Perfect for beginners and is value for money.
