IWB Holster Compatible with Taurus 85 and S&W 637 642 638 43 442 Revolvers,Not for Protector Models

No screwdriver came with mine. Luckily, I had one in drawer.Fit as supplied was too tight to use with Taurus 856. The supplied Chicago adjusting screws were of good quality. I removed the screws and spacers completely and the 856 slides in n out very smoothly. Some may prefer to adjust the screws until they have more friction to the fit or even a snap-in fit. The plastic belt clip seems robust and is adjustable for for-aft cant using the two screws. Easy re-holstering without undoing the belt. The groove in the belt clip is too narrow to be used with 1.5" belt - needs another 1/4" (better too wide than too narrow, Mr designer). Rides very comfortably on me at about 4-30.ProsRobust, good features and materials.ConsNo screwdriver provided with mineBelt clip needs an extra 1/4" on width of belt slot (most people wear 1.5" wide belts in my experience)Perhaps it should be supplied with 2 belt clips - 1.25" and 1.5". Most people have a screwdriver, so leave that out.Some advice to those who may get a tight one, even when the screws are removed. Place some packing material (wood, plastic, metal or folded aluminum foil) in the open gap to force it apart about 1/4" more. Heat the folded edge with a hairdryer until it gets hot to touch. Allow to cool, remove the packing material and you should find that you have a looser fit.

I decided to start "every day" carrying my Taurus 85 .38 Special so I was on the hunt for a comfortable IWB holster that works with this model revolver. I have two Alien Gear holsters for my H&K and my Taurus 9mm, so I know what a comfortable IWB holster should feel like. I picked this holster based on the price and how the holster protected the trigger & hammer. I ordered the " right hand canted" holster so it is slightly angled forward.When it arrived, I immediately tested the retention pressure to see if I need to make any adjustments. I made sure my Taurus was unloaded & slipped it into the holster. It took a noticeable tug to draw the firearm from the holster. Next, I tried the "upside-down" test. I turned the holster upside-down (over a pillow). The holster retained the Taurus. A slight shake and the Taurus came out of the holster. I had to unscrew the 2 bolts to remove the belt retaining clip so I could get to the retaining screws. I discovered that I can change the angle of the holster by adjusting the belt retaining screw position.Next I tried wearing the holster. The belt clip grips my "carry" belt very well and does not slip or slide. I wore the holster with my Taurus .38 all day, including a trip to the dog park, grocery shopping and general running-around. In & out of the car and walking around stores. This holster is very comfortable.I am very glad I made this purchase.

I got this for my Taurus 605 after seeing that previous reviews saying it fits perfectly. Well, technically it does fit... if you don't mind forcing the 605 to fully seat. It's way too tight and drawing it back out won't happen unless you use even more force and some well crafted words that a salty old sailor can appreciate. The tension adjustment screws had no effect. Even with them loose and rattling the holster's grip was still just as strong.I can't speak for the clip because I didn't get that far, my disappointment and regret were already at max levels and I quickly started a return.

It seems to work fine for a Taurus 605 2" snubbie. I did put thicker rubber grommet on it as others before me and it's snug as a bug. The belt clip is a little stiff and feels tough enough to last. For the price, I can't complain.
