A Lifesaver for Digestion – Gentle, Effective, and All-Natural Relief!
I cannot say enough good things about these NOW Foods Peppermint Gels—they’ve become an absolute staple in my daily wellness routine. If you’re someone who struggles with bloating, indigestion, or that uncomfortable heavy feeling after meals, these little capsules are a total game-changer.I started taking them regularly after dealing with frequent digestive issues—mainly bloating and occasional stomach cramps after eating certain foods. I wanted a natural solution that wouldn’t upset my system or require prescription meds, and peppermint oil kept coming up in my research. Enter these softgels. The peppermint oil in these gels works wonders. Within 20-30 minutes after taking one, I feel my stomach settle and the bloating significantly decrease. They seem to help relax the digestive tract, which eases that tight, crampy feeling. What I love is that they include both peppermint and ginger oils, so you get that extra soothing benefit for your stomach (ginger is great for calming nausea too). It’s like a one-two punch for digestive comfort! One important note: these are enteric-coated, which means they don’t dissolve until they reach your intestines. That’s key, because it prevents any peppermint burps or that overpowering minty taste you sometimes get with other supplements. They’re gentle on the stomach and don’t cause any weird side effects for me.I usually take one right before a big meal or anytime I feel like my digestion needs a little help. Whether it’s after a heavy dinner, traveling, or just those days when your gut feels off, these always deliver. If you’re on the fence about trying them, I highly recommend giving them a shot. They’ve made such a difference in how I feel day-to-day. Honestly, between supplements like this and my regular Amazon purchases, I should be a Vine reviewer by now!

Works great!
Boy and I happy I found these. They work great for bloating relief. For me they seem to work pretty quickly. Best to take before a meal but does work if you take them afterwards. There is a slight peppermint smell. Pills are easy to swallow and have no taste. Ingredients include peppermint, Ginger oil and Fennel oil. Great relief for anyone having belly discomfort. Does not make me feel nauseous or ill.

Good price and dosage, but fennel oil potentially has health issues
This product is, per milligram, by far the cheapest enterically coated peppermint supplement. The enteric coating works perfectly well. There is pretty strong clinical evidence that peppermint oil treats a lot of the symptoms associated with both IBS-D and IBS-C, and that is my experience as well. Relief comes surprisingly fast, particularly on an empty stomach, and regular daily use helps the most. The clinical research I've read shows 300-600mg of peppermint oil, 1-3 items daily, to be the effective range. I personally found one capsule (~300mg) twice a day to be an effective preventative, and two capsules as needed to be a good treatment for "emergency situations". It does cause pretty bad acid reflux but that's unavoidable since peppermint's antispasmodic properties are both what treats IBS and loosens the valve in your stomach and allows acid up into your esophagus. However, this product is not just peppermint oil, it also contains ginger and fennel oil. Ginger oil is a serotonin 3 antagonist, a class of compounds that have been demonstrated to treat some symptoms of IBS. Fennel oil hasn't been clinically demonstrated to do anything but there is a historical tradition of using it to treat gas and bloating in babies.A problem arises with fennel oil though. Fennel oil is typically between 50% and 70% estragole, which is a probable human carcinogen at high doses, inducing liver cancer in rats. The recommended daily intake limit for humans is 10 mg per day. One of these capsules contains about 20mg of fennel oil, which at the lower end is going to contain 10mg estragole. That means that one capsule per day would put you directly at the recommended daily limit. That dose limit is translated from rats, and shows greater than a 10% increase in rates of the cancer. It's really unfortunate because the price point is so good but I have personally decided to switch to a different brand that does not contain fennel oil. If I took three capsules a day everyday, which for me would produce the best result with tolerable acid reflux, I would exceed the daily recommended limit of fennel oil by three times every day. Being chronically constipated also increases risk for colon cancer so everybody should weigh the cost benefit for themselves, but if it is within your budget to find an enterically coded peppermint oil preparation that doesn't contain fennel oil it might be wise to do so.

WORKS for stomach issues without side effects!
I have had IBS for years, but recently had TREMENDOUS stress and my stomach was so bad every single day and in so much pain I thought I had developed an ulcer. Gas, extreme bloating and pain all day, everyday. My gastroenterologist prescribed me a drug that would relax the muscles and spasms in my system to help control symptoms, but it came with a hefty list of side effects. I always prefer to handle things naturally if it is at all possible, so she said we could try Coated Peppermint first. I was skeptical that it could really work, but tried it anyway. This particular brand of supplements is one I have used before with other supplements, and it was extremely cost effective, so I gave it a shot and WOW!!!COATED PEPPERMINT WORKS! I take it twice a day, at least 45-60 mins before I eat (bottle says 30, but I found more time to be better), and my symptoms are 75% better. That doesn't sound like much, but it feels like a LOT. Plus, NO SIDE EFFECTS except the occasional peppermint flavored burp. I actually felt a cooling sensation in my gut after taking it. You never actually taste the peppermint, as coated peppermint doesn't open in your stomach.....it is coated so that it opens in your intestines instead, which is better for soothing spasms and calming the gut. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. MUST BUY.
