They are NOT all made the same and output pins can be positioned differently, so only the correct cable will ensure the output is mapped correctly to your components. Using a 3rd party cable or cable from a different PSU could result in you frying your motherboard and other components. Only use these extensions between the PSU cable and the component it's connecting to.
