Best of the Best
I wrote a review last week about the chocolate peanut butter version of Pure Protein's bars. I will try not to duplicate that entire review here, but keep in mind that the chocolate peanut butter flavor is one of three different flavors that is included in this variety pack.Bottom line on this product is that it is the most inexpensive way I have found as of yet on an extremely high quality protein bar that it not loaded with sugars, carbohydrates or a bunch of scary sounding chemicals. Of the three in the variety pack, the chocolate peanut butter is still my favorite. The other two products taste good as well.Just take a look at the label. The chocolate peanut butter bars have 20g of protein with only 16g of Carbohydrates and around 2g of sugars. If you happen to be a diabetic (like me) these bars are like a dream snack come through. These bars let you satisfy your sweet tooth while still staying completely within your diabetic diet. I have never had my blood sugar spike after eating these. Even after I was starving and ate two in a row there are no spikes and I am still well within my allotment of sugars and carbs for the day.Besides the taste and the high quality proteins that these bars contain, this Variety Pack also has the lowest cost-per-bar you can find under the Pure Protein brand. Why this is the case, I don't know. I'm just happy to have found this "loophole" in their pricing. I often work 8 hour shifts where I am not allowed more than a single 30 minute break. These bars are perfect for situations like mine where you need to eat something, but don't have much time, money or make a big mess. One of these gets me though an 8 hour shift with a sustained release of energy and glucose.I have used quite a few Pure Protein products over the years. I know them mostly from their protein shakes. I've always had good results with their products and this one is definitely their best "invention" yet. One minor downside, which is no fault of the manufacturer at all... If you get these as part of a Subscribe and Save subscription, make sure that the other items you subscribe to aren't heavy enough to crust the boxes that these bars come in. I made the mistake of having my bars shipped with a 30lb bag of cat litter. Needless to say, the cat litter "won" that battle!I can not recommend this product highly enough. As a diabetic, especially, it is very hard to find a mess-free, compact and inexpensive snack that will not spike your blood sugars or ruin your diet. These bars are exactly what I was looking for and will be re-ordering them indefinitely.

Great bars, great price. My go-to bars
Pure Protein bars are probably the best bars you can get for the price. They use milk protein isolate, whey protein isolate, and whey protein concentrate for the bulk of their protein.Every other bar I’ve found for this price uses either 100% soy, or a mixture of soy and whey (I have found that, for me personally, whey works better than soy)The bars in the multipack range from 20-21g of protein, and 180-200 calories. There is very little sugar, as well as some sugar alcohol (warning, don’t eat too much stuff with sugar alcohol at the same time!)Something else that is in these bars is a vitamin and mineral blend. While they don’t use the absolute best absorbing versions of each of these vitamins, they ARE being taken in with food, so there is a slight better absorption. The taste is so-so. You have to remember that you’re eating a protein bar for the nutrients, not a candy bar for a snack. This will NOT be as good as something like a Snickers bar, but it will be a pretty good protein bar (they’re really not too bad, just not quite candy)Overall, I would rate this bar as follows:-Macros: 5/5. These things have great looking macros for getting some protein in. 20-21g of protein, 4-6g of fat, and 16-18g of carbs (2g of fiber)-Size: 5/5. They are pretty small, which is nice for those who have trouble stuffing food down.-Flavor: 4/5. The chocolate chip and chocolate deluxe are solid flavors. The chocolate peanut butter tastes like eating an off-brand reese’s-Texture: 3/5. They are okay for protein bars, but if you’re not used to protein bars you may think they’re a little “mushy” or “chewy”. Again, these are protein bars, not candy bars. There is a little texture just because of the nature of the product.-Value: 5/5. These are, by far, the best value for a milk/whey protein bar I could find. Every other bar that is close in price contains soy protein, and every bar that is close in milk/whey protein either has half the protein, or is twice the price.I would rank these bars at a 5/5. Certain flavors could be a little better, and you may not like the texture, but with the solid ingredient list and value, I think these are the best available bars.I would recommend these to anyone who is trying to get more protein in their diets, without adding too many calories. (the only better option is protein powder, but that doesn’t pack as well as a bar)

Affordable protein fix is good but chewy.
Pretty good protein bars but with a good flavor variety and keeps me full, but some are a little too chewy.

These are *EXACTLY* what I was looking for in a Protein Bar!
Yes, I gave these protein bars five stars each for value and freshness. They ARE a great value for the money & quite fresh, with expiration or "Best By" dates from three to six months in the future. They're not dry or chalky like some others I have tried, but the package notes "Adults, for best results drink 8 fl. ounces (236ml) of water or 'other liquid' (?) (water's fine, thanks) with this bar."I gave them two stars for flavor, but that is a GOOD rating if, like me, you are purchasing them because you want a PROTEIN bar and NOT a CANDY bar.I have tried the Chocolate Deluxe, Chewy Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Salted Caramel, and Chocolate Peanut Butter. As far as flavor goes, they all taste about the same. While they are certainly edible, they're not delicious enough to be too tempting to resist. This makes them perfect for the job I expect them to do, and not good enough to tempt children or spouses to wolf them down as they'd do upon finding a stash of chocolate candy.A taste of one is all anyone needs to understand that these are part of some kind of eating plan and not a treat for a sweet tooth.***These are NOT "meal replacement" bars, always check nutrition facts***

Protein bar
I love this product. I just wish it had less calories. The protein is great but, the calories not so much.
