Viper VSK100 SmartKey Bluetooth Module Connects your smartphone to your car security/remote start system

I bought this mainly to be able to unlock my doors for the rare few times I accidentally lock the keys in the car. I do not use the proximity auto lock/unlock and I do not have it hooked up into my remote start unit. I have no need for those two features thru my phone.So, for my use, it works great. As long as you're in range and have given a moment for your phone to have connected to it, it works. Every time I press a button (to test or show someone) it works. Again, as long as you give a little time for the Bluetooth to connect before pressing buttons. Which only takes a few seconds, but is apparently too long for some people according to the other reviews.For me I really like having it. I don't worry about my keys anymore knowing I always have my phone.

DO NOT BUY THIS OR ANY VIPER PRODUCT!!!!! I'm an ASE MASTER CERTIFIED AUTO/TRUCK TECHNICIAN, I have over 30 years experience. I have installed several remote starts of all brands. I even installed the Xpresskit 4X10 that they said I could not install because I was not an Authorized Dealer. Well I did install it and it worked fine. I received the VSK100 for Christmas and installed it. I can communicate with the VSK100 but it wont communicate with the 4X10. I need to pair them together. Well Viper will not give me the instructions on putting my 4X10 into paring mode because I'm not an Authorized Dealer. They want me to take it to an Authorized Dealer to install and program this. It would have cost me $250.00 for this. I installed it in 5 Mins. That is a hell of a labor rate. I asked the kid that gave me the install price how long he has been doing this he told me 2 months. So Viper wants me to have a kid with 2 months experience put this in my Truck for $250.00 with no guarantee he can get it to work cause he knows nothing about it instead of giving me the procedure. Well all Viper stuff is in the trash and out to be picked up now. I will find something else out there I can use. Viper is not the only company out there. Viper (Directed INC) can shove their Authorized Dealers and Products.

50/50. Sometimes is works on point. Sometimes it takes for ever and I end up in arming the vehicle with app.Haven't figured it out yet. But it seems like when the phone goes to "sleep" it is when the module has a hard time connecting. Hopefully an update will fix this problem

Continuously has connection error, range is terrible, cost is very high for total gimic

Don’t buy this at all I does not work and no app available for this outdated product a waste of money.

As a whole this is not very practical. The amount of time it takes to lock or unlock your car makes it not very convenient. If I want to lock or unlock my car I have to pull my phone out of my pocket, unlock it, open the app and press a button. Once I press a button there's about a 5-10 second lag before anything happens. So if you want to unlock your car you could be looking at 20-30 seconds total. With a remote it's about 3-5 seconds.
