After tons of research I was in between buying a new refrigerator or attempting to fix our well loved kenmore side by side. J decided that it was worth repairing.I replaced the thermistor and my fridge was still warm but my freezer was still freezing over.After reading more online forums, I found that this small piece could be the answer to all of my problems!Sadly it was $200+!!!!!But then I found it here on amazon, SCORE!When the piece arrived I immediately grabbed my husband's drill, popped off the control cover in the top of my fridge, disconnected the old chip and popped this one in. It was not a perfect fit because the metal plug pieces are even and the last one on my fridge is offset. But I was able to slide it on nonetheless.Within an hour I already noticed that my freezer was defrosting again!It's been a few months now, and my fridge and freezer are running perfectly.The fridge is cold, the freezer is frozen and the defrost cycle works like a charm!No more manual defrosting every other month!I definitely recommend buying this chip!

Excellent product

I knew my fridge defrosting problem was one of three things: bad heat coil for defrosting, bad thermostat, or bad circuit board. The first two tested to be good. It had to be the circuit board. I’ll admit, I had my doubts on a Chinese made $25 part. But that was several months ago and my fridge defrosts perfectly fine now. I hear that nice little trickle of defrosting ice landing in the evaporation tray. I found the exact same item on other websites for $200+. It was worth a shot for the money. So far so good. As other reviews alluded, I did have to bend one prong ever so slightly to make it fit.

I bought this defrost control board to the fridge and defrost cycle stopped working. After that I bought same model defrost control board of different brand and the fridge started work fine.

My problem was cured with the easy install of the defrost control board. The only problem I observed was that the ice maker gets a big chunk of ice directly beneath top where it makes the ice. I can live with it . It only gives you a problem if you want to empty the entire tray. You have to use an ice pick to break up the chunk. But overall it saved me a lot of money.

It was a perfect replacement!

This defrost control board was identical to the original and was easy to change in about 10 minutes.
