1976 S Proof S US Mint Proof Set Original Government Packaging Proof

Was in nice condition , I also go the 1975 set as well . 1975 and 1976 were both Bicentennial Sets. The only noticeable difference is the dime, nickle and penny are dated 1976 where as the 1975 are dated 1975. Both sets have the larger denominations dated 1776-1976 Great to have in collections at a decent price

I purchased this 1976 set in 2020, so the set at the time of the purchased is 44 years old. For those of you that don’t know, this is a bicentennial set minted in 1976 to celebrate our 200 years of Independence Delivery was fairly fast. The coins were deliver in a bubble wrap envelope and the the coin set was in a small plastic bag. I will proceed to do my review in sections as follows:OUTER PACKAGING: The coins came in a black cardboard box indicating they were a Proof set for 1976. The packaging was in GREAT like new condition, very minor wear. Considering that is a cardboard box and that the cardboard is 44 years and still in that great like new condition it’s impressive at best.PLASTIC CASING: Plastic case was visually reviewed. The plastic case is composed of black and clear plastic with silver color markings. At plain sight there is no scratches, under magnifying glass there is small mark to the front right side of the one cent coin. After more careful review under more magnification it was determined not to be a scratch, but a small defect probably cause under the manufacturing process inside the plastic case. There are no pry mark indicating that the set was ever open. My assessment is that the plastic case is in GREAT condition.COINS: Coins were visually reviewed. All coins correspond to the year of the set which is 1976. The dollar, half dollar and the quarter coins include the years 1776-1976 and they have different art in back side of the coins to commemorate the 200 years of independence. The mint mark for each and every coin is an S for the San Francisco mint. The coins were reviewed under magnifying glass and the coin appeared to be uncirculated proof with no visible scratches.The coin set is in great condition, very presentable. While I can not make an assessment on every coin set that the seller have, but this one did exceed my expectation.
