Oodelay 8 Inch - Short FireWire800 (9pin) -To- FireWire800 (9pin) Jumper Cable

At first I wasn't sure how well this cable would work because the picture made it look as if the connectors were too long and bulky. What I needed to do was connect two drives that were stacked on top of each other, and I didn't want three feet of cable dangling out the back. I bought the cable anyway to give it a try. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. The connectors are a bit smaller, which makes the bend between hard drive 800 ports easy without kinking the cable. It works perfectly. So far, no problems with it at all. I don't know why there are so few choices out there for people who have several drives that they need to connect neatly without stringing wires all over the place. This was the only short cable I could find on Amazon that was Firewire 800.

Just bought several of these for use in our server room, where I have a whole bunch of external drives used for daily backups and archiving. They work nicely for either 3.5" or 2.5" drive enclosures, either side by side or stacked. They reduce cable clutter and also minimize total cable length in Firewire daisy chains. The cable part is flexible enough not to pull on the connectors despite the short span.Use of Firewire drives is on the decline these days, but if you're among those that use them these short cables are perfect.

Needed this to connect a Macbook Pro to a Firewire 800 external hard drive. We bought the Firewire 800 to Thunderbold adapter at the Apple store, but we still needed the Firewire 800 to Firewire 800 patch cable, since previously we were using a Firewire 400 to Firewire 800 cable on a 2007 Macbook.Worked the first time and worked as advertised. Much faster disk access time since it's able to access the drive at native 800MBPS speed now.

I mistakenly gave this product and seller a 1 star review and could not go back and change that. So this review is an attempt to correct that. I meant to give it 5 stars. I ordered 2 of these. They are exactly what I was looking for to connect a series of hard drives.I received the product very quickly and am 100% satisfied with the purchase

A very simple remedy for a problem I could not seem to find a solution for until I ordered this product. Very well made with a great range of products that are not found in the common electronic stores.

Perfect for eliminating too many long cables or twist-tied loops behind my stack of hard drives. Just the right length for this application.
