Ocean's Eleven [Blu-ray] [2001] [Region Free]

A Great dvd, packed with extras, good picture and sound quality and a top film.The supporting cast are all excellent in their roles, there's real star power on display and each of them are unique and given their chance to shine while it still being clear that it's George Clooney's character story. I couldn't help but feel the bit where he's making his pitch $150,000,000 split 11 ways, was that how the producers sold the film to the cast?The overall tone of the film is upbeat, slightly tongue in cheek packed full of jokes. The cast have a nice range of diversity, 11 guys from, the DVD cover is slightly misleading though, you'd think looking at it that Julia Roberts was on the team when in fact she has very little to do in the film. The costumes, set design, editing and cinematography were all great, the dialogue is also free flowing and sharp.The reason I can't give it 5 stars is that the film is a bit hollow and shallow, some of the events are implausible, details are glossed over and we're never left in any real doubt that the team will pull it off. Other than that though we have a really good movie.

Danny Ocean manages to convince the parole board that he is a reformed prisoner, and gets released after four years behind bars. He then rounds up a talented crew to undertake the most audatious robbery of all time......the theft of $160 million from the most secure vault in the world that services the Mirage, Bellagio, and MGM Grand casinos in Las Vegas. How does he do that?!This film is the epitomy of cool. In every respect it has an air of sophistication and just oozes pure class and coolness. The cast is spectacular, ranging from young to old, with each character excellently played, especially George Clooney as Daniel Ocean. The performances are magnificent. The storyline is excellent, and the film is very expertly paced by Soderbergh so that the plot unfolds gradually without revealing all to the audience too soon. This alone is wonderful, and adds to audience surprise and excitement in the realisation of how the crew undertake the robbery, and how they overcome the twists and turns that occur. I even like the finishing music to the film which is just totally cool and also oozes class. The first piece of end music is in the same league as Green Onions by Booker T & The MG's as it is so cool.I found this film to be so refreshing when compared against the sequel films that were in some places just too fast, garbled, and chaotic. It is often the case that film sequels never stack up to the original, and it is certainly true with Oceans 11.So, for such a small price, obtain a real cool film gem, and sit back in the comfort of your own home and watch how these cool guys pull off such a wonderful robbery. This is entertainment at its best.I enjoyed Oceans 11 immensely, and hope that you do too.

No oscars going to be won here but this is a fun adventure that never flags. And is almost believable ... :)

The funniest thing, quite obviously is Don Cheadle's attempt at a London accent....truly up there with Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins...(I was born here in London and this kind of thing amuses me, it must be like an English person attempting an American accent....) Otherwise a well spent two hours....

Not usually my kinda of film but I watched this when it was released and loved it ever since.

OK, I was late seeing this, should have watched before - great fun...

Came up to expectations and thoroughly enjoyed the whole film.

This movie easily makes my top 10 worst movies of all time list. The gaffes and faults are too numerous to exist, but here's a short few.1) You are supposed to like the charachters/bad guys. Any movie that has you rooting for the casino and against the criminals is bad.2) Why does anybody think that Julia Roberts can act? Another horrible performance. Sadly, it's not the worst one in the movie. Matt Damon phones in his lines. George Clooney looks bored.3) There are holes in the plot that you can drive a truck through. For example the Bellagio and Mirage banks are somehow connected. Someone forgot to mention that Ceasars Palace is between these two properties. Doesn't anybody do location scouting in these movies.

Diese Kritik bezieht sich auf Ocean's 11 bis 13: Alle drei Filme der Ocean`s-Reihe brillieren mit sympathischen Charakteren, ungewöhnlicher Handlung, überraschenden Wendungen, Humor und excellenten Schauspielern. Für einen noch relativ rüstigen End-Fünfziger wie mich sind jedoch manche Szenenwechsel zu schnell und unzusammenhängend durchgeführt, wobei die Handlung stellenweise etwas verworren wirkt. Was mich aber wirklich stört, und dafür gibt es einen Stern Abzug, sind die lauten Hintergrundgeräusche (zumeist stark rhythmische Musik, aber auch Geräusche aus dem Geschehen) die es häufig schwer machen, den humorvollen oder auch zur Handlung beitragenden Dialogen zu folgen. Alles in Allem sind die drei Filme sehenswert, wenn man sich an Gaunerkomödien erfreuen kann, aber das Verstehen der Sprache ist zuweilen anstrengend.

Natürlich sticht als aller erstes das Staraufgebot dieses Filmes ins Auge, welches wirklich großartig ist: Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Andy Garcia usw. Ohne die Stars wöre dieser Film sicherlich nicht so erfolgreich geworden, da die Story nicht wirklich neu ist. Einfach gesagt ist es wieder ein großer Coup, den mehrere gewaltabscheuende Ganoven ausüben wollen. Der Schwerpunkt des Films liegt somit auf der Planung des ganzen Casino-Coups in Las Vegas. Und hier findet sich die kleine Schwäche dieses sonst so tollen Filmes: Es wird einfach zu viel geredet und geplant. Man möchte in manchen Szenen einfach mehr Action und Spannung erleben, welche dann letztendlich aufkommt, wenn die Aktion dann endlich beginnt.Der Film läuft so vor sich, bis er dann am Ende einmal spannend wird. Dank der Leistung der Schauspieler aber immer noch besser als manch anderer, vergleichbarer Film. Auch die DVD ist in Ordnung.

come per l'utente precedente, la tracia audio in italiano purtroppo non è presente (a differenza di quanto indicato)colpa mia che non ho letto con cura la scheda e non ho notato la recensione...in ogni caso per aiutare chi lo acquisterà dopo di me, fate attenzione, se non vi di ascoltarlo in lingua originale (a me va comunque bene e quindi tengo l'oggetto) non acquistatelo o cercate un'altra versione!

Diese tolle Komödie bietet Unterhaltung pur, nicht nur die tollen Schauspieler überzeugen, sondern auch der Humor, mit dem diese Truppe ein Casino ausrauben möchte, doch nach dem zweiten Blick hat Initiator Danny Ocean (George Clooney) weit mehr vor...Ein überaus gelungener Film, der einen tollen Flair hat und außerdem mit einem tollen Soundtrack aufwartet, der zur relaxten und coolen Atmosphäre beiträgt, genauso wie die coolen Rollen der Protagonisten.Toller Film, den man gesehen haben sollte.Klare Empfehlung.

Un film piacevole per una serata in compagnia, un po' lento nello svolgimento e con poca azione, ma alla fine sicuramente merita vederlo per la genialità del colpo. Qualità audio video 6,5

Good movie with great actors. I would definitely recommend this movie to my friends and family. It's one of those movies where you can actually watch more than once and not get tired of it.

Ein Film der Sonderklasse. Und, mit Starbesetzung ohne Ende. Der Film ist sehr unterhaltsam und auch die anderen Teile sind wirklich gut gemacht. Nervenkitzel, Action und Humor. Der Film bietet eigentlich jedem was. Der Film ist einfach nur klasse und kann immer wieder mal sehen. Super.
