Excellent book
This book completed the series of 12 books n my son wanted it so badly. Highly recommend to all parents. Best series available to make kids learn to read.

So so
I purchased few books from the series and honestly would not recommend it though it serves its purpose of phonic reading practice. You child will read it once, ok, twice and that's it. Because the story is not so great.. Its good for school text book may be, but literally its not a "book", you know what I mean. In my opinion its better to buy few good books like Julia Donaldson's or another good children's author which child will be willing to read again and again.

Fraudulent prices quoted. Not worth buying on Amazon.
The Usborne phonics readers are a great reading resource for toddlers. The mouse moves house is beautifully illustrated and makes for a good story too. But the original cost of the book itself is 150 INR. The cost before discount stated here is much higher and the cost after discount plus delivery charges is also higher than the original cost. I would rather buy this in a store than here on Amazon. The two stars is for the book only

Good book for early readers
Good book for early readers. My 5yo has read it. Phonics Readers books are not as entertaining as Scholastic Reader, but this one has some jokes sprinkled over it. It's cute and fun.

learn to read
My 6 year old daughter brings home books from school to read with repetitive sentences and some difficult words (which she uses pictures clues to figure out). I'm sure this is helping her learn to read, but I can't help notice that she basically memorizes the book. Other easy readers have many 2 or 3 syllable words which she finds difficult to sound out. This is a great book for teaching some phonemes ("ou", "ack"). It uses lots of words with these phonemes to reinforce learning (ex: mouse, house, Mack, packs, black, backpack, etc). My daughter can read a few easy words (ex: go, to, and, she, etc). These books contain many of these along with words that repeat the same phoneme sounds. There are still some words too hard for her to figure out but without them, it might be difficult to write an interesting story. All in all, great books to teach reading to beginning readers. I would also recommend the Dick and Jane books (which use the same words over and over, but not using the repetitive sentence technique).
