Fundamental Laws Of Mechanics (Old Edition)

Firstly, this is a classic and so no comments on the quality of the content. I read the original translated book by Mir Publishers. This book has a more modern font and smaller figures which makes it to fit the contents in smaller number of pages and that's acceptable because the price is alsp very low. Paper quality is good enough.

I recommend this book to every 11th standard student who are aspired to crack JEE Main and Advanced. This book tests your clasp on the basic principles of mechanics. If talking about the chapters, it first gives you a basic thought on the main topics with theory and examples and then tests your ability with strenuous questions. Thanks to the late Russian physicist I.E. Irodov for writing such an awesome textbook.Note(s):i. Only the first five chapters are suggested for JEE Main. However, you can read the last two chapters after the exam which are based on relativity.ii. Students who love physics or doing B. Sc. in physics could also study through this book.

A good book, covering most of the concepts, I say most cause it does not feed you by spoon but just tells concepts.Other books generally prescribed for jee contain less knowledge and less toughness, still more length and more coast. This is because of spoon feeding attitude shown by the authers.The language used might be tough for country boys like me and the author has used less famous symbols for quantities, however this must not bother the concepts.

Mechanics is an extremely important part of physics and one cannot possibly opt to neglect this vast topic.This part is difficult but if one's concepts are clear, everything is a piece of cake.This book does a good of diving deep into the world of mechanics while explaining all the nifty tricks and concepts.However, a word of caution - The concepts explained in this book are of high order. So don't jump straight onto this without practicing or learning from other general books first :)

Really good for basic level but not for jee preparation. Good if you want know fundamentals.Rather go for HC Verma instead. That is more relevant for jee preparation.

If you love physics, this is for you. But wait, don't go for it unless your basics are clear and you want to do some rigorous problems.

While “General Problems in Physics” is the ultimate book for practicing physics, this is a great prelude ... it has a lot of the techniques and methods used in the main book as well. This book is not compulsory, but go for it if you want some additional techniques and concepts. Well worth the price.

Nice book...

Irodov é mais conhecido pelo seu livro de problemas desafiadores de física, muito usado no preparo para os vestibulares do ITA, IME, etc. Apesar da proposta totalmente diferente, posso dizer que esse livro é uma aquisição importante para quem tem interesse em aprender Mecânica Clássica com uma visão diferente dos livros usados em cursos iniciais de física nas universidades. Irodov apresenta os conceitos da Mecânica de forma rigorosa e completa, de tal forma que seja bem completo para um curso de fundamentos de mecânica, mas não seja completo a ponto de poder ser utilizado num curso de Mecânica do ciclo profissional de Física.
