With the recent hot weather, my labrador is shedding her fur all over the place and its not necessarily just the undercoat. I have been using a furminator every other day, but still my carpets were covered in black dog hairs. I ended up taking my dog to the local groomers and when she came back - her fur just gleamed, plus when I combed her - no hair came out. Basically - she looked fabulous. I asked the groomers what they used and they told me it was a rubber mitt - hence purchasing one on Amazon the next day. There appears to be quite a difference between the Furminator and the rubber mitt as the furminator is good at removing the actual undercoat, but when it comes to the courser hair - this tends to remain on the dog. With the rubber mitt - I have found that this removes the courser hair by the bucket load! In addition - the dog's coat just gleams after using it.I am personally delighted with this purchase and will use it in conjunction with the Furminator - for example - Furminator first to remove the undercoat and then the rubber mitt. The dog is very happy with me using it on her. I use the slightly longer " 3 split pimple" side first which really strips away the courser hairs and then the rounded pimple side on the reverse of the glove that really gives a beautiful shine to the hairs. Getting the hairs out of the glove is a bit of a pain, so as other reviewers have recommended - I use the hoover wand and this works like a treat. The mitt is also very comfortable on the hand and can easily be used by left or right handed people. I would have no hesitation in recommending this product and its an absolute joy to see my carpets looking a pale beige rather then a sludge grey!

Easy to clean , just vacuum with small hoover nozzleI have a short hair cat Siamese, initially when I felt this glove thought I’d be too hard. Tried against my skin and its soft.Brushed very lightly against the cat and considering I brush her weekly a lot of loose fur came onto the glove. Had one of these for our crazy Lab (passed a few years ago). So pleased to see they're still available for our new pup Lab / Springer. Not sure how good they'd be for long haired breads, but excellent for short coat. And she thinks it's a treat to be brushed with this.

Too big and stiff for my small hands!

So on first use one of the little joining parts split and broke. It wasNt worth returning but thought I’d note this in the review and also it is difficult to fully clean I find. The hairs get caught between the nobbles and just will not come out but hey with patience and time you could remove it all with a fine pin brush. My chihuahuas don’t have tons of hair but it does shed so this is gentle on their skin and coat and removes the undercoat perfectly. Recommend for short coats and small pets

Excellent for short hair dogs, gets right in and removes all those little needle like hairs. I have a short haired lurcher and its the only brush that works on her.

When our Labrador’s who is attempting world domination by leaving his hair everywhere he goes stopped letting us brush him with his defurminator we had to find something else to capture all his loose fur.He enjoys being brushed with this brush and it’s fairly good at capturing his loose hair.
