Honshu Karambit Review
There seem to be no reviews of this particular karambit yet, so I'm quite happy to write one of the first ones!First off, shipping from this seller was fast. Received the karambit in about 3 days after ordering. Now, the knife itself. It comes RAZOR sharp out of the box. I almost always give any new knives I buy a few passes through my Schrade handheld sharpener...this is the first time I did NOT need to do that! Very impressive. The very tip of the blade is like a needle. Be Careful handling this. If you plan to do any "extensions" using the ring on this blade, practice lots with a trainer knife first. Spinning it back towards you (into a full grip) could EASILY slice open your forearm or sink in pretty deep.It is definitely full-tang, so no worries there. VERY solid construction. The handle is made of grivory or something similar...heavily textured, with nice, deep ergonomic finger grooves. It is made for someone with large-ish hands. Mine are slightly smaller than average, but I can still get a solid, comfortable grip. The "talon" on the end of the ring can be used as an alternate thumb ramp, and works well for my smaller hands. In all honesty, I (personally) see this as a rescue/utility knife (albeit a large one). The Talon can be used as a glass-breaker, the ring assists in retention, and the curved blade can easily slice a seatbelt or cut clothing without cutting the skin below.Obviously, those characteristics also make this just about the PERFECT self-defense blade.Overall, a well-constructed full-tang karambit. It actually has a talon (which is rare for a "factory" blade. Normally only found on custom, hand-forged blades costing lots of money.)It is single-edged, but there are sites and services around, that will sharpen up the back edge for a small fee.A very good value for this price range. You'd pay a lot more money for a better karambit.

Everything I've gotten from United Cutlery has been great
Great knife. Strong, sharp, full tang blade, and the grip is molded perfectly (for my hand at least).

Cool karambit: Great, but not perfect
This is an impressive karambit with a really nice curve to it. The full tang gives you confidence. As others have said on the internet, this is not AUS-6 metal, but it can be sharpened and will slice the head off any ravaging dog or zombie coming to eat you. The sheath quality is good, but it does come up a little far into the handle area. The sheath is made to deploy the knife only from one side (bummer). The shoulder harness digs into the armpit a little. The handle is excellent and very comfortable. I don't know what the other reviewer was talking about when he said the handle was not comfortable. My biggest complaint is that the handle is made for someone with larger hands than me. From one knuckle to the other my hand is about 3 1/3". The ring on the handle is quite large.

Great "tools"
Bought 3, if that's an indicator!Stealthy, very pointy, and definitely worth every penny.

What you pay for
The above review tells you plenty that you see from the picture. Yes it is full tang, yes it has a talon. You can see that. The things that aren't blatantly obvious are the bits that are important. First off, the blade itself. The knife is not AUS 6 as advertised. The knife is 7Cr13. Comparable to AUS 6, but not a Japanese steel. It comes from a sub-par bar of metal. The finger ring is plenty big for all but the chunkiest of fingers, but the three other finger grooves simply do not feel right when used with the thumb notch on top. They are simply too small to be comfortable in a standard or Filipino grip. In a reverse grip with the thumb on the talon, the grip is comfortable enough, though doesn't give the feeling of stability. The sheath itself is barely passable at best. It hold the knife with a stiff flap and knob that rests on the first finger groove. Alone, that doesn't give me a warm-fuzzy considering the knife is meant to be worn upside down. On top of that, the extended part of the sheath's back, where the harness is meant to attach, extends past the backside of the second finger groove. With both of these, no matter which hand you draw from or what grip style you choose, standard or reverse, the only point of firm contact with the knife is the finger ring, and because the karambit has to be drawn at an angle, that means pushing or pulling the ring to a side, then wrapping a finger around what you can reach, then drawing the knife. Again, not a stable or reliable draw. When pulled straight down, the tip of the knife has pushed its way through the side of the sheath multiple times thanks to it being two pieces of plastic put together with eyelets. Very low quality and almost certainly not kydex. The harness is what I bought this knife for, and it is absolute crap. There is no other way to put it, there are no redeeming qualities of it. The picture of the harness is a diagram because the harness that comes with the knife looks nothing like that. It has a single loop for one arm, the stray goes around the back of the neck, connects to the knife and the rest of the harness goes straight down to a sort of alligator clip. All of this is made out of a sort of elastic that is one of the most uncomfortable things to have rubbing against the back of the neck. If you try to push it off of your neck, onto your collar perhaps, the harness moves back up as you walk. Drawing the knife from the harness is both awkward and unsafe, and in any sort of combat or necessity scenario, simply unreliable. Because the sheath is straight and the knife is curved, the blade has to be drawn at an angle, with the only point of contact being the finger loop. Either the arm closer to the knife has to bend back uncomfortably to essentially reach its own armpit and flail the knife into a reverse grip, or the opposite arm has to reach that same armpit to safely pull out the knife. All while the elastic is grating against the back of your neck.To sum up this knife, you're getting what you pay for, but not what they advertise. You get a karambit with an elastic band and a loop at one end sheath. Not a harness. The knife is a decent budget blade for the ones that prefer money saved over quality but feels too thin for anything but cutting paper, people or a tall weed's flower off. This is not a karambit to be taken seriously and not for the serious enthusiast. But, this is United Cutlery. What did you expect?

My Knife Story
This knife is amazing.I bought this knife when I was 12? 13? I dont even remember. My mom got it for me and i'm 20 now, Anyway, the knife has certainly lived up to its reputation. It remains tucked away in my nightstand, looking good as ever. Its easy to keep nice and sharp, and its nice to know it generally useful as well as extremely dangerous!I remember slicing my arm open one time while doing a spinning trick I had seen in CS:GO, a video game played on PC. I was bleeding pretty hard for about 10 seconds, but I cleaned + bandaged easily. It definitely isn't fun though, and can still see a scar to this day.TL;DR GREAT KNIVES COME WITH GREAT RESPONSIBILITY10/10 rating would buy again
