Optiphen Plus is a paraben- and formaldehyde-free preservative system that is ideal for products with a lower pH systems. Optiphen Plus is an ISP patent-pending liquid preservative formulation featuring an innovative blend of phenoxyethanol, sorbic acid and an emollient base that is ideal for slightly acidic personal care products requiring broad spectrum protection. CONFLICTED - DIDN'T PERFORM WELL
While I feel pretty confident that this is a good preservative - although I've no way of testing it. I've used it twice, in a lotion that failed and I found out later that optiphen is often the reason for lotion-failure and in a spritzer, to keep cool, simply because using water in anything without a preservative is dangerous. There is no separation in that solution but it would be hard for there to be as there are only 2 other ingredients and it is not an emulsification. I'm conflicted. It might be a good brand of optiphen but rather just that optiphen is not a good thing to use in a lotion or it might be that this particular brand of optiphen is not good in emulsions. IDK

Good preservative for serums
Still trying to figure out amount to add to serums. It does keep Vitamin C from turning yellow or brown as quickly.
