Zip-around Hunter Style Genuine Leather Wallet with Scorpion (metal zipper-around) with Chain

3 stars is a bit harsh, but there's a reason...the chain. The chain that is connected to the wallet seems to be made out of pewter. It's a serpentine type chain that needs to be laid flat to keep the flow of the chain continuous. When you turn the chain in the opposite direction of its flow it gets "kinked" looks like a knot in that spot. In fact, when I removed the plastic shrink-wrap, there was a kink already in it that looked like it would have broken the link completely if any more stress were added to the spot. I had to bend the link back into place--which was a little too easy to do by hand. The chain on this seems to be more decorative than functional. And I wasn't after decorative. I had been pick-pocketed over the weekend at a bar, which prompted me to look for this item to begin with, and I want a wallet with a chain designed not to break, not just to have an old rustic look.Also, partially my fault because I didn't look to closely at the measurements, this wallet is very big. It's a full inch thick and is a snug fit in the back pocket of a standard pair of blue jeans...and if you keep it in your front pocket (like I do) you won't have room for anything else.One last minus: for as big as it is, your cash doesn't go very deep into the wallet when it's unzipped and you're actually dealing with your cash. The bills barely clear the flap they're held in, so it's easy for other people to see just how much money you got on you if they're looking.Other than that, the zipper is of reasonable quality (doesn't seem to snag) but is not as smooth-going as some other zippered items I've had...and considering you have to fully zip and unzip the wallet every time you use it...I suspect there will be some snagging problems down the line, if there aren't any now. Also the leather quality seems good.All in all, actually, now that I consider all of the things mentioned, 3 stars isn't harsh, it's just accurate. Especially for the price I paid for this. I'm going to try to see if I can return it.

This is a great wallet except for one thing: it is snags a tad on my back pockets as I remove it - due to its dimensions. it is a bit thick - about 1/4 inch thicker than most wallets. And it is a bit wide - again about 1/4inch wider than most wallets - to make room for the zipper, I guess. Speaking of the zipper, it is like one might find on a pair of blue jeans - versus a zipper with finer and more numerous teeth.My prior "wallet" was a zippered compact camera case. I liked it a lot. It was just a tad larger than a credit card and just wide enough to handle the cards I had. It easily slipped in and out of my pocket. So, getting use to a larger wallet will take a bit getting used to.That aside, the wallet is well constructed. It has ample slots and spaces to organize things. It is exactly what I wanted - less the extra 1/4 on the dimensions. I have had it only for five days. Each day I use it, I become more glad I bought it.It definitely is a keeper. Were I to look for wallet again, I will probably buy another of the same.

full of compartments...but really stiff. looks great. the zipper is the only drawback; too course to slip all the way open. it won't round the corner to get all the way open. i like the zipper idea, though. combine that with the chain, and security is pretty good. i replaced the short chain with a KEY-BAK #7403 Pocket Chain Belt Clip Key Chain so the wallet can reach a side pocket on my cargo pants, with a little bit of slack

Zipper held up fine, despite many people saying that would go first. What did fail was the internal liner, causing two smaller pockets to become fully accessible from the first bill pocket. That may have been because I was keeping a bulky spare key for my car in it. Still, lasted a year and a half until that happened. Structurally, the rest of the wallet is in great shape.

The only reason I didn't give this wallet a 5 star is because it is bigger than a normal wallet and is hard to get in and out of the pocket. It is very well made and seems to work well so far. I've had it about 2 months and it looks just like new. The shipping was terribly slow, so don't order this thing at the last minute and look for it in a week. Won't happen.

Great design, very quality leather and accessories... But on the other hand, bad quality seams on the inner, fabric parts. All of them got torn away almost at once. Nevertheless, the wallet can be used without any problems if you just forget there had to be a few departments in it.

I wrote an early review of this wallet. I gave 5 stars and claimed its was the best I had ever owned. Sadly, less rhen 6 month has past and it is coming apart at the seams. There is not stiching; so they must have used glue hold it together. Worst yet, I have not come close to filling the wallet to it max compactly. Maybe,I have it a third of the way full. I am going back to a smaller wallet and carry less stuff.

I needed a wallet that was a little smaller than the conventional chain wallet. This was a pretty decent answer. My only real disappointment was the chain to wallet proportion. The chain is kind of dainty in comparison, and a little fragile. The chain hasn't broken, but if one is not careful (like myself at times) it will get broken. The wallet itself is not bad. I just put boot polish on it to preserve the leather. Gave a 5 for the cost.
