OneBomBeer Ball Valve, 1/2’’ Weldless Bulkhead Fitting with 12mm Barb, Full Port SS Brewing Kettle Valve (2 Piece)

I added this to a stainless pot to make transfers easier when brewing beer. It installed easy and works well. There is an occasional small drip that is very minor when cold.

When this bulkhead and ball value were first delivered, the inner most package was torn and was missing the threaded bulkhead, metal washer and rubber washer shown in the product pictures. However, Amazon quickly sent a complete replacement. With the replacement, larger, 1/8 inch thick washers were provided which are larger than the 1/16 inch washers shown in the Amazon pictures. I used the larger 1/8 inch washer for the outsize of my 5 gallon Gott instead used an extra 1/16 washer for the inside I had on hand which better fit inside the retaining nut. As others noted, the barbed fitting is 12 mm so smaller than the 1/2" shown in the picture. This is too small for some 1/2" inside diameter hoses. No leaks on my 5 gallon Gott cooler once installed. Good price but not a perfect product so you get what you pay for.

I whish the threads that go in the pot hole where a bit longer, just an extra 5-8 mm other than that great deal. Fits my SS 10 gallon pot and it's half the price of the SS valves. Can't even tell the difference from OEM

Put this on my igloo 10 gallon drinking water cooler that I use to hold cold water for my SS Brewtech FTSS. It works great, no leaks at all. I do put a small plastic container (I cut out part of one of my daughters lunchables containers and it fit perfectly) under it because the ice cold water will produce condensation on the outside of this since it's metal, but I've only seen a drop or two of water during a 2 week fermentation.

I like the fact they were easy to install in a quality product but one of them when I ordered two one was missing the washer in the nut

We use these valves to drain 55 gallon drums that we use to pasteurize straw, either with direct burner heat on the drum or high-pH lime water. These valves hold up to both these conditions and we've had no issues. I just bought my 4th valve.

If you're buying this for home brewing, save yourself the time and trouble and go ahead and order about three or four of these. I've now ordered three of these individually and keep finding uses for another. A little tip - tighten from the back to keep your gasket from twisting up.

I ordered this thinking it was for a cooler but it's for a brew kettle. I haven't used it yet but seems well built though. The only reason for 4 stars is it only came with 3 o-rings and not 4 like the description states.
