The best
It is the best hand lamp that has very good clarity and brightness. Everything looks great at night. It is the best thing I have ever purchased.

Not as advertised.
Product not as advertised. Item is shown with a charging case but it does not arrive with one. In fact this isn't even an option offered by the manufacturer, but its shown and sold this way on Amazon. Then you just get the light no case, or even the proprietary charging cable which has to be purchased separately. Seriously???? I can't charge it with a USB- C or even an older USB - micro cable? It has to be their separate special magnetic disc connection cable and I have to pay $25.00 extra for that? How about a big old NOPE and I send it back for a refund. Last time I will ever buy an Imalent product.

Uniquely designed EDC flashlight
I own many flashlights from several brands but this is my first Imalent, and certainly my first with its own charging case. This is a very unique and interesting design that makes it useful for people who need a compact EDC flashlight but don't want to carry spare batteries, or have access to a charging source. This design isn't as gimmicky as I expected, usually I prefer a flashlight with a replaceable battery, and I still would prefer this one did, but I think this is the second best option from a replaceable cell. You're carrying both a flashlight and a power reserve for it. It's pretty slick. The case is nicely designed and feels well built as does the flashlight itself. It has an attractive grey canvas lid and a textured design on the charger's end caps. The light itself is fairly minimalist, but does have some raised spots and the Imalent logo on the side that gives it a clean and interesting look. The flashlight is controlled via a single electronic tailswitch. The switch itself is made from metal and has a shiny bare finish. The switch engagement provides a slight tactile click and feels pretty good. There are two recessed mounting holes for the included lanyard. There is an OLED screen on the light itself that shows the charge level and the output level in lumens, from 20 lumens on it's lowest mode up to 4000 lumens on turbo. There are 5 total output levels. The UI is good and what we are used to with most e-switches. Single tap to turn on/off, press and hold to change levels, double tap for turbo. Triple tapping will show the battery voltage level displayed on the screen. As far as I can tell there is no shortcut to a moonlight or strobe mode, but I haven't fully read the instructions yet.The internal battery in the case is charged via a USB-C port and they include a short USB C to C cable. The light itself does not have a USB port, just two contacts where it picks up power from the case. I believe you can get a cable that charges the light directly thru these contacts, but that's not needed if you have a case. They also sell the charging case as a standalone item so you can pick up a spare to extend runtime. The beam is impressive. This thing blasts out a ton of light for its size. I don't have a way to measure lumens, but I believe it's close to that 4000 lumen claim. It will only sustain that output briefly before stepping down to a lower level, but that's to be expected on such a tiny flashlight. The emitter is a XHP70.2 in cool white. The tint is clean and neutral, with a nice even beam with a very subtle hotspot. This is a flooder, not a thrower for sure. It uses a small textured "OP" reflector.Normally this wouldn't be my kind of flashlight, but I have to say I really like it. I have been using it a bunch the last few days and I'm seriously impressed with the performance and features. I think this would be a great EDC for most people.

This thing burns HOT!
I love this little thing but I don't really understand the design decisions. It has lots of charge status indicators. Charge status graphic display, voltage display, red/yellow/green color indicators.5 different power (brightness) settings from 20 lumens to 4000 lumens. For whatever reason, this light has a single, very hot LED rather than an array of multiple, cooler LEDs. If you run this thing at full bright, 4000 lumens, it will get too hot to hold in about 90 seconds. It will also run the battery down from full to empty in those same 90 seconds. What's the point?Luckily, it has a thermal shutdown feature that will turn the power way down before it bursts into flames. The thermal shut down kicks in every time you try to use the 2 highest settings. Again, what's the point? How often do you need a super bright light for just 30 seconds?Anyway, I just leave the power setting at 3 (900 lumens) and it makes a great little light for night time dog walking. Like earbuds, the case is a power bank so the light fully recharges every time you snap it into it's carrying case.
