Love this board. I bought it for my 11 yr old. I already own the Wedge and my son used it all of the time so I bought him a Grom. Now we have a frickin' blast body surfing together. We switch boards sometimes and I get great rides on the Grom and I'm not a small guy (weigh about 240 lbs). I grew up body surfing in the Outer Banks of North Carolina and currently live in VA Beach. I'm about to buy another one as a birthday present for a close family friend. You won't regret this purchase - it helps make great beach memories.

I am experienced at body surfing and a lot of times when the waves are small to low medium sized they do not generate enough power to keep you at the crest of the breaking wave so you mostly ride white water after the wave breaks. Yesterday got my first chance to use The Grom and was very happy. The waves were in the 3 ft range but with very short periods between waves which drastically reduces the power they produce. The same as they were a week ago only this time with the Grom I was able to shoot down the face quicker and turn down the barrel for a much more exciting ride. I was carried farther and went faster easily double the distance than without it plus I was able to steer better on the wave. The little bit of buoyancy makes a huge difference. After a few waves you get the hang of it. Watch a few Slyde videos online for tips on how to maximize performance. Get a leash because it will get ripped off your hand once in awhile. The small size is great, easy to carry and fits in a backpack or under the seat of your car so it is always handy when you get time for an unexpected beach session.

Took a few tries to figure it out, but loved it!! Rode more waves than anyone on the beach!!! Was able to ride 5 - 1 foot waves. Did great on all of them. Rode wave to shore. If you know how to body surf or boogie board, you will get this. What makes it fun is you can ride all the waves. Even the small waves, I was going all the way to chest in sand at the shore. Cool thing, I will always have this at the beach.

Took it out to Hermosa Beach for the first time body surfing in the Pacific. Grew up body surfing on Lake Erie as a kid when we didn't know what a rip current was. Spent many days body surfing off Cresent Beach on Siesta Key.Three of us tested it out in the 3' - 4' shore break. The Grom performed as I hoped it would. The Grom allowed us to post up out of the water and doubled the length of our runs. Even better the Grom stabilized our runs especially thru the washouts at the end. You don't realize how good it is until you give it up to someone else.The only downfall is you have twice the distance to travel back out to the break. Next time I will try some fins because I missed a couple of runs that past me by before I could plane out.

Nice unit for the price but mine had a small rip in the bottom right corner. I should have unwrapped it right away instead of throwing in my trunk and waiting for the right beach day which came beyond the return and replace 30 day time. It's light and stays well on my hand. Fun to use!

I took this to Ocean City, Maryland over my vacation to where the waves are any where from waist high to shoulder high on a 5'10 male. And it was pretty solid with the waves on the smaller side it was ok on the bigger ones but had a rough landing. I would pick this over a boogie board 9 times out of 10 just because of the lightweight and compact design, it was so easy to catch a wave and then dive right back in to the next one. This board is flawless the design is sleek and the feel of the board is great. I recommend this board to beginners all the way up to the pros. 10/10

These are quality body surfing boards. In fact, this is the second one we have ordered.

Fun and easy to use. My husband use it to body surf, our toddler uses it like a kick-board. Great color, functional, and durable product.
