I honestly stumbled upon this brand recently after my previous brand for clay pomade was suddenly unavailable / out of stock on Amazon. But I love the quality and scent and have since reordered and added it to my “subscribe and save” list. The strong hold is great!

Maybe it's a bit early for me to be rating this product 5 stars, but with every other hair product I've used, I know whether I like or dislike something about it within a few days; at this point in time, I can definitely say this is the best pomade I've used to date. I have tried at least 5 other brands, all water-based, some of which were medium hold and some strong hold. This claims to be a medium hold product but held up better throughout the day than Imperial's strong hold pomade. I was exposed to heat, humidity, and cold all in one day. None of the other stuff I've used has ever come out looking the way Byrd did by the end of the day.Every brand has their own scent added to their product, and this one is, again, the best in that regard. It is very subtle and unique, and you won't smell it unless you're up close. A plus in my opinion, as every other product I've used, was perceptible from a distance, like cologne. The finish is definitely matte as the packaging suggests. The finish a hair product leaves in my hair is something I'm very picky about. Despite claiming to be low shine, Imperial's pomade left my hair looking clumpy and wet like a gel. Byrd's pomade looks very natural, almost like you aren't using any product at all. I've also used Suavecito's matte product. Byrd's pomade is much easier to work through your hair and seems to have a much stronger hold.This is a great product so far. I haven't found anything to dislike about it so far. If I do, I'll update the review.

Pros and cons: pros outweigh the cons so I'll start with the cons.Con: not always available. Sometimes takes forever to arrive. So I know that's not a con on the product because there really isn't one with short hair. I guess the con is that it isn't for hair length beyond pixie length.Pros: I have extremely great, thick, very straight hair. It's so thick that hair dressers are amazed at the quantity. I have two possibly 3 cowlicks.This product works with wet or dry hair. It's flexible and somehow stiff at the same time. My hair stays in the same idea until it gets wet. I spike it in a mohawk or have surfer hair. I ride a bicycle around town with a helmet and it still stays after it has been set. My hair moves when you touch it but bounces back unlike when I used got to be glued (do love the stuff for a different hairstyle). Doesn't get greasy even after 3 days of not washing.If you have used a wax but wish it had the hold of of glue, this is a product for you.Did not get paid for this review, but if the company wants to send some extra product I wouldn't turn it away.

I really like Byrd’s medium shine, firm hold.Thought I’d try this for something lighter. It’s too light and I don’t like the smell as much. Wish I just stuck with what was working.I have all grey hair - maybe that has something to do with it?UPDATE: ok... I let my hair grow longer and now I understand this stuff. The medium-shine version made my hair look oily. This matte version works great and keeps my hair looking light.

I couldn't be more delighted with my recent purchase of this clay pomade for my 9-year-old son. He's quite attached to his long, thick, and coarse hair (check out the image to see what I mean), and we've been on a quest to find a product that could make it more manageable and keep it out of his face.After trying out several products, I can confidently say that this one has stolen the show as our absolute favorite. The texture is wonderfully smooth, and there's no unpleasant sticky feeling to deal with. We were hoping it would do a good job of keeping his hair in place, and it does exactly that - no more hair in his eyes!What's even better is the creative potential this pomade unlocks. Like many other reviewers have emphasized, this pomade has a few key attributes:-fresh, masculine smell (non-irritating)-medium to strong hold (textured hold - not plastered by any means)-Washes Out (my biggest gripe of Byrd classic pomade was the fact it is oil based and took multiple washes to rid the greasiness)-Quantity of product for price point is reasonable (jar is deep)NOTE - as another reviewer recommended, buy the larger size as opposed to travel oz. I tried this product a while back but had issues with product clumping/dryness. Larger tin is much more moist and whips out with ease.

Byrd clay pomade works really well for me , gives my hair the styled look I want and holds all day without feeling greasy or hard like after using styling gel. It also has a matte appearance so your hair isn’t super shiny. It also smells good in my opinion. I will be buying this product from now on.

Für mich als Frau mit kurzen feinen Haaren ist das Produkt nicht zufriedenstellend. Es erinnert mich sehr an Schuhcreme. Ich kann schlecht damit hantieren. Meine Finger kleben so dermaßen, dass ein Styling nicht möglich ist. Schade.

Bonne tenue et retrait facile

Ich bin schon seit langem auf der Suche nach einer ordentlichen Pomade die meinen sehr trockenen und dicken Haaren guten Halt bietet. Ich habe das Produkt beim Barber in Toronto, Kanada kennengelernt und bin froh, dass ich es via Amazon auch in Deutschland beziehen kann.Die Pomade ist auf Wasserbasis und lässt sich entsprechend leicht auswaschen und bietet nicht dieses klebrige Gefühl wie bei richtigem Haarwachs. Trotzdem hat sie genug halt für meine strohigen Haare und trocknet die Haare dabei nicht so sehr aus wie bspw. Haargel.

セット力も良く、少量で1日キープできます。多少癖のある匂いなので、好みが分かれると思いますが、個人的には好きな匂いです。
