These are great insoles which I know will keep my feet warm in winter. I’ve put one pair into my walking boots and although it’s the middle of summer they are nice and airy and. very comfy. They are not too bulky and they have no smell to them. Will use the second pair in my wellies in the winter. Would buy these again.

I bought a pair of gym shoes from Inov-8 that were too narrow for my big fat feet so i can only ware them without laces plus the insoles are quite rough and chafe my bare feet. These lambs wool insoles have come to the rescue and have turned my gym shoes in to a most comfortable ware. Remember to wash them by hand with a bar of laundry sope in hot water and they should serve you fine for a good while before needing to be replaced.

Maybe I was spoilt before as the pair I had previously was a lot thicker than these, so I naively expected these to be the same.Don't get me wrong, as a comfy insole they meet the requirements, but I bought these specifically to stop the cold coming up through the bottom of some work boots as my other half spends a lot of time standing on cold surfaces.I put them in his boots on Tuesday evening with the promise they would solve the issue of the cold, but then when he came back on Wed after spending 13 hours standing on cold concrete, in Jan, he reported that whilst it was a little better, his feet were still frozen and painful.I've put a pair in my slippers as well and can honestly say that I've not noticed much of an improvement in warmth either. I'm sitting here now in fact & can feel the cold in my toes.So, whereas I hoped for a woolly miracle, I'm sorry to report it did not meet my expectations.I'm giving the item 4 stars, as it is well made & fairly true to size, but knocked a star off as the wool layer seems very short or thin so isn't very effective against cold floors.If you usually have warm feet these will probably be quite effective, but if you have naturally cold feet or poor circulation, they may be too thin to be of benefit.
