Oidon Plastic Sun Visor UV Protection Hat Cap

Oh my god, some of these reviews are so asinine that I had to write my own to explain how the protective film works. The printed text sticker on the inside of the shield is stuck to a plastic film - NOT to the shield itself. The protective film covers the ENTIRE inside of the shield up to the fabric edge, so if you carefully peel that off from the fabric edge, the printed text sticker will come off with it. Wow, y’all....Shield looks cool and is a great extra protective layer over a cloth mask in the COVID-19 era.

I have a pretty high tolerance for bad quality/workmanship. I can usually zhush something into looking decent and carry it so no one's the wiser. This thing was a travesty. Number 1, there's a large paper lens protector that's sewn over the lens. It serves a pretty major purpose in protecting the lens, but the fact that it's made from paper makes it difficult to remove and likely that you'll accidentally scratch or damage the lens when tearing it off. Number 2, the "piping" has excess that wasn't trimmed. (As seen in the photo) Typically, I wouldn't consider this a huge flaw, but after realizing the next point, I'm definitely including this. Number 3, they put a warning sticker on the actual lens. This isn't some easy pull and peel thing you'd typically see. No, it's a full adhesive sticker. Sure, I could've tried goo gone or soap and water, but honestly I'm afraid I'd somehow damage it more. Promptly requesting a return. Do yourself a favor and avoid this monstrosity.

It’s really comfortable and looks great; however, do not wear this if you are in extremely sunny or extremely hot places. I wore this in Dominican Republic and it wasn’t that hot temperature-wise due to the time of the year, but the sun exposure still melted it while it was on my head. It still doesn’t look that bad but I can’t see through it any more after it warped.It’s a shame because I would only wear this to the beach or to a Vegas pool party but those types of settings are too hot for this product and will melt it.

I wore this as part of my costume for the Mummers Day Parade in Philly. I was there from 9-2 on a pretty windy and cold day. There was also some chorography and it stayed on well during practice and on parade day. It was easy to flip up and down.Children were apprehensive about it.The paper and sticker were annoying, and the sticker left residue, but nothing that blocked my vision.

This visor had the potential to be perfect. I found the fit to be really good and comfortable. The band was not too tight as some other users had experienced (though I do have a small head so that may have helped). The visor part itself is a good size and shape and the angle is adjustable so it really does protect your whole face which is exactly what I was looking for.Unfortunately as other members have mentioned it doesn't seem to do very well in high temperatures and mine has also started to melt. It has become misshapen in parts where the sun has been too strong for it. This doesn't stop it from working and doing its job but it does now make me look like a reject from a Daft Punk video when I'm wearing it.I would have thought that a product designed to protect your face from the sun would have the ability to stand up to the temperatures expected when sun bathing.

This was well worth the price: fun and trendy but a little skimpy on quality/material type. It looks like visors are ~$15 for the bendy plastic (prone to getting crushed easily- imagine the plastic binders you had in middle school) and ~$30 for the hard plastic (imagine a plexiglass type material, but even harder!)Honestly I would have loved this as-is if I hadn’t gotten BOTH versions from different sellers and saw the material difference. The hard plastic is so nice andGreat quality, I would have loved forThis one to be that material, but It looks like the iridescent finish isn’t possible in the hard plastic. It would create a more rounded / helmet like look (this item was almost rectangular in shape, not smoothly curved).Regardless, I liked that it was a fun look and that it was a headband style to slip on and off instead of a Velcro strap, which would be cumbersome to get on and off. I used this for a Photoshoot (see pix) and ppl loooved it!

Overall it's decently made and the irridecsence of the vinyl is great! BUT (Major But) I was sent a hiddeous red visor instead of Black, as advertised. AND I won't be returning it because the likelihood that it just be discarded/thrown away is high, so I guess I'll just keep it and save all the fossil fuels that would go into fixing this. I will have to tape/spray paint/diy it before I wear it in public.Also, the visor/plastic is slightly bent (permanently) right in the middle of my forehead. Not visible, but I can feel it. It tolerable. Again, not worth sending it back.A Plus AND Minus: How dark the vinyl is.I'm sure it blocks out tons of sun rays, which is it's intended purpose. However as I was going to use this more as a face shield (thought it would be fun, but give me some anonymity....as to not embarrass my teenage daughter 😁). The darkness of the vinyl is sort of a minus cuz it's a little hard to see through. I realized that clarity is not its intended purpose, it's just heads up for anybody else who intends to use this visor as a face shield. You Can see through it though. Like wearing sunglasses indoor...Not always the most practical. But I'm trying to have fun, not be practical. Hopefully it will make someone smile while I'm out shopping. Or shake their head in confusion. Either way I'm here for it. Lol.Overall, it would have been 4 Stars had I received the right color.
