I bought the gadget to see how much use I would make of it before paying 'big bucks' for a better one.I did finally set it up after many failed attempts. This is the knack that worked for me: before use switch the Channel switch in the Sensor to 'Channel 2' or 'Channel 3'. Then back to 'Channel 1' - it seems to me that the switch was not exactly in place on Channel 1 when I received the device.The instruction leaflet although matching the model number does not seem correct in all aspects. It talks about an "RX" reset button which is absent unless it is the channel switch that doubles as such.The humidity sensor, the display showed that my Living Room was 'partly cloudy!' Clearly this is not ideal if what you want to know is whether to take a raincoat when you go out.First surprise was to find that the outside unit is not waterproof - somewhat of a misnomer to call it an outside one, unless it was made for places where it does not rain.There is a standard flap type cover to the battery compartment on the display unit. But the 'outside' unit has a screwed down cover - which requires a tiny cross head 'precision screwdriver', good eyesight and a steady hand to remove the 4 screws! N.B. Do not secure the cover until you have managed to get a Wi-Fi connection. Because I had to take out and replace the batteries many times after resetting the Wi-Fi scanner in the main unit a number of times too.Basically this is an expensive alarm clock with a snooze button! With various additional functions! Don't expect a good forecast - use the TV or look out of the window as the instructions clearly state, "This is not an accurate weather forecast but can give a nice visual impression of what the weather is doing." I could look out of the window and see that! I have clock, alarm and calendar functions on my PC, Tablet, mobile phone, bedside alarm, TV, wristwatch, house alarm - why do I need one here - more attention should have been given to its primary function. it is not a weather station as I understood it - it is basically an indoor/outdoor thermometer with humidity sensor - that works only indoors!12 December 2021.Still in working order. I have the "Outside" unit in the porch! At least it gives an indication - usually about 5C higher than the actual outside temperature.Once set up, changing the batteries does not require a complete reset. Though I find it best to put the Outside unit next to the receiver until the wireless link connects.I do find changing the outside unit batteries very fiddly. Since it is not weather proof a simpler compartment flap would have been easier.

I bought two of these. one for use in our motorhome and one as a present. Delivery was fast and, despite a few interesting phrases in the instructions, it was very easy to set up. In fact, you can set it up without the instructions if you give it some thought. Checking the temperatures displayed against other thermometers in the house, we found that this unit produces accurate readings. We're looking forward to using it in the Alps in the winter so that we can find out how cold it is outside before we open the motorhome door and step outside. The one we gave as a present didn't like Duracell batteries, but worked fine with ordinary alkaline and with rechargeable ones. A good plus, then - you don't need expensive batteries.

This item is pretty good but weather buffs beware - it does NOT record external humidity, even though the rather inadequate instructions say it does. Still, very easy to set up, especially the wireless connection. I took up the matter of no humidity sensor with the suppliers who very kindly sent me the advanced model which does have one, for no extra charge. They were very helpful throughout.

This was easy to set up until I tried to access the temperature outside. After numerous failed attempts, I changed the channel which is what you should do if you have more than one remote sensor and it worked ok then and has been working well since. Looks a little bit cheap but it seems to work well. Good for the price.

My previous weather station had broken and I missed knowing what the temperature was outside so bought this as a replacement. It is very clear and was easy to set up - except you need to put the batteries in the sensor before the batteries in the main unit for it to pick up the reception! I have had this for a few weeks now and it is working well. I thought it was very good value for money compared with others. My only minor criticism is that the day of the week is not very easy to read, but the clock and the date are very clear.

This product had good earlier reviews with some reservations about the instructions. It was competitively priced for the data it provides. I had no difficulty setting it up (once I had realised the outside receptor channel needed setting by trial and error) and it has performed well so far. I had previously owned an ANTECH which had been good until the outside sensor packed up (not a battery fault), but it had familiarised me with how you set up these weather stations. The iBoutique is attractive and robust and very good value for the money.

Sent this as a gift. Accurate., but a bit hard to read. numbers could have been darker.

Arrived promptly..easy to set up.....pleased.
