A Journey of the Imagination: The Art of James Christensen

This book is SO important to me, I ordered a second copy. I'm in Florida right now, and my copy is in New Hampshire... and I knew I needed the inspiration I always get from this book.If you don't order a copy for yourself, insist that your public library gets a copy. I mean it. Every illustrator and lover of fantasy illustrations (and dreams!) should have the experience - the absolute joy - of browsing this book, at the very least.The wit, the whimsy, the literary references... I love it. I think you will, too.

This is an amazing book full of imagination and wonder. I met James Christensen before her passed away and talked with him about his paintings and about my own art. He will always be dear to me as both a friend and as a master artist.

The images in this book are amazing ... but even better, is the commentary within the book by the artist himself. It gives the reader a glimpse into the mind of a master illustrator. This book is precious to me, because Christensen is one of the few artist's who delighted in being silly (and having fun) in his works. His commentary about that really struck home - because I have always felt inspired to be silly/have fun in my own art. Would have liked to have met the man - his work seems so refreshing delightful and original.

I got this hard-to-find book as a gift and couldn't have been more thrilled. The pages are packed full of all his amazing art. I really enjoyed reading all the artist had to say, too. It is a favorite in my personal library.

I had seen one of Mr. Christensen paintings at my doctors office, this book is filled with his work and talks about hidden meanings and reflects on his keen sense of fantasy and use of colors and texture to reveal his amazing talent. I bought the book for myself but it is a coffee table book for all to enjoy!

If you want it for the Art Work, (Which I love!!) VOYAGE OF THE BASSETT may be a better choice. Still happy with purchase and came in Amazing Shape :)

What a wonderful book. If you own one or more of his puzzles, this book is a must have. The drawings are beautifully executed and the detail is incredible. Nor designed for a quick read - curl up and and loose yourself in the fantasy.

Though used, this book was in excellent shape. I love fanciful art, and James Christensen is a master. Lots of large, color illustrations.

Excellent book full of the wonderful creative art of James Christensen. I've admired his work since I first saw it in the late '80's, and I'm thrilled to own a book full of his work.

アメリカから送られてきたようだが、梱包が何ともぞんざいだった。本のサイズよりもかなり大きな箱に裸で入れてあった上に、何の緩衝材も入っていなかったのには呆れた。中古本なので、箱の中で動き回っても影響はないと考えてのことかもしれないが、こんな送り方をしてくる業者は見たことがない。

厚本で見応えがあります。多くの作品を1冊の本で見たかったので購入しました。最近の新しいものはありませんが、わたしには十分でした。
