PLEASANTLY SURPRISED
I am a beginner on harmonica. I read reviews on all the ones I'm interested in. I bought a beautiful Seydel blues session. Then I realized that I was going to want a variety of harps in different keys but I couldn't afford to keep buying expensive ones. So I went to the under $10 dollar ones. I got some Fender blues deluxe, Honer blues band 1501's , Swan diatonics and a few Johnson blues kings. Everyone of those harmonicas had some flat notes either on draw in or blow on one or more holes. I saw good reviews with CHICAGO BLUES HARMONICA and liked how your company described how your harmonicas are made. I went ahead and ordered one. I took it out of the box as soon as it arrived hoping that it would be as described on line. I was pleasantly surprised. Seriously, every hole played a perfect note draw and blow. Wow finally ! Now I wish I hadn't wasted so much $ money and time on the other under $10 dollar harps. Next I'm going to get me some more Chicago Blues Harmonicas in different keys and hopefully I won't have any more flat or missing notes.! I am Very Impressed. 😎🎶🎼 Thanks

Smooth reed plates, smoother tone
I'm enjoying the unusual tone this little harp gets from its unusual lucite comb; I'd describe it as a slightly "glossier" tone than usual. It's a bit like my [much pricier] Hohner Blue Midnight, which uses a similar transclucent blue plastic comb. [It's also making me even more curious about the ones with machined acrylic combs; alas, I don't think I've seen any of those for less than around eighty bucks..]I also noticed that, unlike almost every other harp with protruding reed plates, these ones are halfway comfortable, as if someone actually bothered polishing the part that actually touches your lips! There's still a bit of a sharp spot on the top, but that's still better than all but one of the exposed-plate harps I've played, including the "professional" grade Hohners; I've had to take every one of them apart to polish those plate edges myself.[Incidently, the only SMOOTHER edges I've found were also on a relatively inexpensive model: the "Kaine" branded one from Musiclily that has the unusual domed cover plates with a row of sound holes near the back edge, rather than a long open gap like almost every other harmonica. And, as it happens, that one benefits from a slightly unusual tone too! I'm beginning to think I might like these cheap Chinese harps BETTER than the expensive ones!]

Great for learning....
I intentionally purchased the Chicago Blues Harp in the key of C because of it's low price. I wanted to make sure that I would enjoy learning to play the harp and would stick with the instrument before spending better money. I have now had the Chicago Blues Harp for 3-weeks. I found a great lesson program online by JP Allen (I would suggest looking him up on YouTube if you are serious about learning to play) and I have been practicing nearly every day with this inexpensive little harp. So far it has held up quite well. A few of the notes have gone slightly out of tune from heavy note bending practice and occasional over-blowing, but from what I have learned this is to be expected. All in all I would say that this is a great little harp to learn on. I've been using it almost daily for 3-weeks and have been carrying it with me everywhere I go (I even have it in my pocket right now as I type this). Now that I am determined to continue my education in the art of the harmonica, I am considering a more expensive instrument, but I'm very pleased that the Chicago Blues Harp was my first harmonica. Over the last 3-weeks I have learned more than I could have imagined on this great little harp.

Good for what it is and what it cost
This is my first harmonica. I know very little if anything at all about harmonicas. I had to watch YouTube videos on how to hold the damn thing.. But!It's really fun once you start understanding on these things work. I'm writing this review based on my limited knowledge and being a first time user.I bought this harmonica specifically to play "Mary Janes Last Dance" by Tom Petty. Upon receiving the harmonica and watching a few videos on how to play it, I began to learn the harmonica parts to the song. It's really cool to actually play recognizable music out of one of these rather than just randomly blowing through it like you did as a kid.PROS:-Feels Sturdy-Has screws to take it a part and clean it-Gets the job done for a beginner harmonicaCONS:-No case included, only the flimsy card board box-The tone sounds kind of cheap but that may be just attributed to me being a novice

A wonderful and fun to play harmonica in the key of G.
In my old age I have developed in interest in playing a musical instrument. My first attempt was a Chinese Flute, which I still cannot play. I began searching for other musical instruments and purchased a number of them. They included: the Kazoo, the harmonica, the Recorder, the Flutophone and the song flute. The Kazoo was fun because if you can hum you can play any song. I also was able to learn a few songs with the other mentioned instruments. However, the harmonica became my favorite musical instrument and after a few months I became fairly good at it. In fact, I now can play more than 100 songs on the harmonica at this time. The most important thing is I am having fun learning new songs every day to play on my harmonica.Once I got into the harmonica I bought numerous mouth harps in different keys. The Chicago Blues Harmonica is one of them. It is nickel plated diatonic harmonica in the key of G. I found the sound in this harmonica to be fantastic and I practice almost every day with this mouth harp. The price was very reasonable and I intend to purchase more harmonicas in the future in different keys.Whether you are a new harmonica player or an experienced musician you should check out this Chicago Blues Harmonica. I love it.Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: The Samurai Soul: An old warrior’s poetic tribute).

Good for beginners or playing with friends
Well, it's a $15 harmonica, so I wasn't expecting the sound of a Hohner Special 20 at $120. It works fine. All the notes are OK. Would buy again. Not for a show with a band as it takes more air to get it going than a much more expensive harmonica.
