AKORD® Mac Mini-DVI to HDMI (female) Adapter Cable for Apple Mac - AKORD

Arrived earlier than expected and works nicely with a shorter HDMI cable (1m). When I use a longer HDMI cable (5m), screen looks distorted but I think it's the cable length issue rather than the adapter... So, all good and value for money for its price!

The adapter arrived as anticipated. I was a little sceptical at first, having visited a local electrical and appliance store they had suggested that I needed a lightning port to HDMI. I have an older IMAC which has a DVI port. Tried to explain this which was met by the customary shrug of the shoulders. Must say that it was for a DVI to HDMI, and not a mini DVI. Plugged it into the back of my IMAC and attached a mini projector and it stated up, no problems at all. I guess that it doesn’t support sound, because I was getting sound from the Mac but not the projector. Great little piece of kit for the price.

The cable as it comes, feels a little loose, there's movement in the HDMI plug but that isn't an issue. The problem lies at the other end of the cable on the Mini DVI connector whose cover is clipped together and rotates around the DVI plug. Mine gave up the ghost after 6 months of use due the Mini DVI twisting and pulling a connector loose.If you're of a mind to you can put years of use on this cable by opening up the Mini DVI straight out of the box (or bag) and gluing the cable holder to the cover. Otherwise, spend your money on a cable that's been assembled properly in the first place.

Finally got the old iMac to connect to my tv. Only works one way iMac to tv (hdmi). No audio

I have a macbook 1.1 circa 2007 and this connector is perfect for connecting via a standard HDMI cable to a digital projector or other display device. If you select System menu-->displays-->show displays in menu bar then you can display HD externally at 1920x1080, even though this model of mac has a display which is 1280x800 max. Package arrived promptly and no complaints whatsoever.

Working ok at the moment but had to play around with system preferences before it started working but found a useful link how to do that on the internet. Maybe helpful if they supply info for things like this as not a computer expert :)
