Looks sturdy. Sharpened a number of knives on arrival. Seems to work well, time will judge.

Mine arrived about 20 minutes ago and we had to try it. We sent a cheaper model (£26) made by another manufacturer back this morning and ordered this to arrive same-day. What a difference this one is to the last. Easy to guide a heavy meat knife blade through the wheels and the blade is sharper than it's ever been. The machine is very quiet. Obviously it makes a humming noise and makes a different noise when a blade runs through it but it doesn't make the angle grinder noise the other one made and the motor didn't slow right down during sharpening. And the blade didn't skip and jump. And the blade doesn't need to go in at an angle.We tried cutting a fresh apple and the knife cut under its own weight almost and an onion was pretty much the same. It made my innards shiver because it's so much more important not to drop it or swing it around (not that we do but thoughts of dropping and trying to catch it crept into my head). Now and I can do all the other knives tomorrow (geek!). This is our first proper knife sharpener, For 23 years we've always had the pull-through ones like our parents used to have but then we suddenly thought, Why don't we have a good knife sharpener? why haven't we ever bought a good one? Now that we have, we're chuffed that we got this one (not glad about the last one we sent back though).If it fails I'll certainly want to moan about it. If a moan doesn't appear under this review from us, it's still working but for Now 5 stars

Tried once so far.This is useful:Thanks for your purchase of SHARPAL 198H electric knife sharpener.For a dull knife, start with 15 pulls through Stage 1 and Stage 2. If the blade is very dull, begin with 20 pulls and check the sharpness. If it’s still not sharp, repeat the process until you get the desired edge.For regular touch-ups, 5 pulls through each stage should be enough. Keep in mind that harder steel blades may require more pulls than softer ones.After sharpening with Stage 1 and Stage 2, 3–5 pulls through Stage 3 will help refine the edge for a smoother finish.The Manual Stage 3 Ceramic V-Slot is ideal for refining edges and quick touch-ups. Serrated knives should be sharpened using this ceramic slot.For valuable knives, we recommend starting with Stage 2 (Fine Diamond Wheel) or Stage 3 (Ceramic Slot) to maintain precision and minimize material removal

You can see from the video. Quiet until grinding (can't affect physics). Sharpens well, with just a couple of passes on coarse and fine slots, you can hear the resistance cutting the lemon disappears.I think it's money well spent.

Although delivered to wrong address, when used and tested on expensive and cheaper knives results were very good on all. How often needed to retain good edge remains to be seen, but effective start.

This is the best knife sharpening tool I have ever used, it take literally 4 seconds and my knife is like new.Been a chef for years and wish I had this for all 34 years. Rotating stone in 1 and rotating diamond edge in 2. 3 is for bread knives etc (non rotating)Great product not sure how long it lasts but so far I will be buying a new one as soon as it gives me up.

I am affraid, 20 degree angle or this machine is not sharp enough
