Prior to first use, please allow the battery to charge for 2 or 3 sunny days before turning the lights on for the first time. It’s forbidden to disassemble the product yourself to avoid any risk and damage. Description: As a weatherproof and heatproof light, it can be installed without fear of environmental damage. As a Day Charger, Install it outside and let the sun power it up. During the day the solar light will automatically switch off to save energy; at night it will turn on so you can find your way. As it only takes 6-8 hours to fully charge, its short charging time is ideal for those short winter. Perfect for patios, decks, pathways, stairways, driveways, garden, etc.when sensing motion it will activate the "bright light". "Bright light" turns off 30 seconds after motion stops. The solar panels capture the sun's energy during the day, providing up to 12 hours of continuous lighting after sunset. Brighter than the original 4 LED lights but...
These are brighter than the original 4 LED lights but when they run out of power they begin to flash on and off, which annoys me. What they do have that the 4 LED lights don't have is a mode selection switch on the back, so I have them in the mode where they only come on when they sense movement for a short period.

Sensibly specced for battery* upgrade / replacement. *(clipped not soldered)
Here I am with my 4th incarnation of another generic item which i've reviewed in the past month or so.First off, the big difference with the smadz units appears to be the fact that the battery is removeable & therefore upgradeable, if you are familiar with thin bodied li-po / li-ion batteries for drone quad-copters then you are aware of the plastic lock/ release mechanism, this unit has those enabling you to upgrade the battery capacity (ideal to have some power in reserve for a series of gloomy days) or simply know that is isn't going to be awkward to replace the battery pack when the battery needs recycling, a simple swap over without having to cut & re-join wires, .no soldering etc.Apart from that this is your standard unit, featuring a pin-push power on / power off (the solar cell is set up to charge the battery regardless). Therefore, on the basis of similarity to other units I'll tweak a bit of myother review in order to cover this one (the magic of partial copy & paste ;) (model SL12)****************Video review imminent, i'm charging it in the autumn sun!***************Don’t let its diminuitive size fool you!Light Source:8PCS*SMT white LEDLumen: 160LMWorking Time: >8 HrsCharging Time:6-8 Hrshigh light keeptime:30 seconds,Induction distance 2-3M;Over charge and over discharge protectionIP Grade:IP65Main Material:ABSHousing Color:BlackDimension:12.5*9*5 CMSwitch: OFF/AUTOPositives.• Easy to hang / remove from wall or hanging point (see picture).• Li-ion 800mAh battery (easy to unclip & re-charge with suitable battery charger / replace at end of life).• Sensibly designed, manufactured & sealed against a degree of moisture ingress.• LED’s are well sealed within clear acrylic• Solar Panel well sealed within clear acrylic (Solar panel:Mono-crystalline 5.5V / 0.55W )• Ingress points sealed with hot-melt acrylic• Cost effective, max points for construction, quality control, weather resistance & internal seal via an outer / inner chamber within the moulding.I have seen this design, simplified over the years, having had a much slicker version which has gradually been bastardised until this generic style is the norm, however I’ve stayed away from this type till now, & am banging my head at my own stupidity & myopic outlook! …this is pretty darn good!Having received the unit (via the distributor) I was able to have a poke around, ..to be honest I don’t really get the dusk till dawn units they seem very wasteful compared to simply fitting a PIR (which draws a constant current, albeit low) compared to a light being on all night, emptying out the too small battery from the word go AND having a pir ready to boot the light level when power savings could be made from a simple off / on via the sensor ..however.Battery supplied, is a standard 800mAh oblong Li-Ion battery (so that amounts to 2x the energy density of a ni-mh) ..considering its size I am beginning to like this unit already! & be able to harvest more energy on the fewer good days on its south facing aspect over the coming winter months. The battery needs a solid charge (turned off as per instructions for a good few days in south facing un-shaded setting) to charge it properly & let the light perform better for longer in harsh conditions.Due to the type of battery, (un-clippable connectors) I was fortunate that it was a bright sunny autumn day & this unit was going to be mounted in a south facing direction (maximum solar gain regardless of season). BUT for charging in anything other than the height of summer, turn off the unit then allow a bare minimum 3 days of south facing sunlight exposure to make for one good starter charge (for standard solar we work on a 3 to 1 ratio for worst season conditions as minimum when solar is at its worst (October –March /April typically) due to the earth’s rotation & LOW winter sun. (as low as 15 degrees following London as a southerly location)***Do not charge this under glass (behind a window)***The unit (x2) arrives in printed packaging with printed detail on the unit (e.g. its IP64 rating), inside the unit is within a bubble-wrap sleeve, both solar panel & light will need the plastic anti-scratch cover removing prior to set up.(altogether this makes for good presentation & quality control indicators) A+So how dim is dim?..comfortable low level indicator & welcome lightHow bright is full power? (boosted light upon the PIR sensing movement within its line of detection).160 Lumens, …hmm, don't know about that but bright none the less, I need to do a side by side test of this unit before i'd make any claim, certainly 80+ per unit, as good as, possibly better than any other generic on the market currently (Nov 2016).Impressively bright actually, whilst I wouldn’t mount this beyond head height (it’s no security light) this would save you peering & fumbling around a key-hole if placed nearby, the idea as I understand is to have this 6 - 7 feet off the ground to give a good spread of light but also to give it a better chance of avoiding shadow from parked cars etc in order for the solar panel to harvest energy unimpeded.>>>>>>>>>>>>The chassis (black plastic body) is essentially an unsubtle one piece housing to which a small MONO-crystalline panel is silicone into place & 2 wires ( + / - are fed through to the circuitry, ..& there we would normally have a major point of moisture ingress, .. it was silicone / acrylic “plugged” so will likely NOT suffer as the silicone sealant gluing the panel into place degrades, ..(I should mention this is not entirely normal for many brands)!Attachment point (X1) is not hidden, which is not the greatest aesthetically BUT you want this to be quickly portable in order to give it better opportunity to charge in better light that is available to you.The on / off is accessed by a supplied paperclip type contact, (so if you lose it, no problem, a micro screwdriver / paperclip will suffice to scroll through the settings / leave it off so the panel can simply absorb light without wasting it lighting up.PIR kicks into life when it is dark enough to activate & within range (around 2-3 metres approach pretty much spot on for any unit of this ilk, & certainly enough for someone approaching the lit area).I must praise the quality of the printed instruction manual, no chinglish & pretty thorough for information via diagrams & walk-through.IF, (a big IF at that) water gets through the rear access via the screw points or surround there is a secondary seal internally to help protect the circuitry,.. a compartment within a compartment if you like! ..slick, I have high hopes for this unit, & if it survives winter well I will purchase a couple as useful gifts (for folk who will put them on a south facing wall ;)The price for the light output & design is cheap & affordable as long as you know precisely what level of light you’ll be getting & the sort of throw.I’ll charge it for a few days & take a video of the internals & points made here…No hesitation (till proved otherwise) 5 stars!>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Disclosure: We were sent the SMADZ Solar wall-light twin pack gratis rate by the distributor, I am not expected to leave a review, I simply review items anyway, (as time allows) & a non biased review at that!, prior to this disclaimer I hope you agree we actually assess & scrutinise an item compared to bedazzled by the discount / freebie reviews left by *some* others)! ..it is not our intention to sell a product to you, merely to let you know what we found out, thereafter it’s up to you to take or leave what we have opined.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>All views / star ratings are prone to change over time if we feel the need to question a product based on form, function, price point, longevity , customer service etc. Thanks for taking time to read through, we hope it has served some useful purpose to you.down-voting actually affects YOUR profile ratings, ..constructive criticism is welcome in comments , we could simply take the cheap stuff & run, (as many do) ..but we don’t!“Gus” & family

Excellent Lights
Excellent lights, well constructed and very easy to install and use. Just push the pin provided through the hole to activate and mount on your wall or fence in a sunny spot (screws provided but I simply nailed them to my fence posts). They produce a nice ambient light after dark which then brightens for a few seconds when motion is detected. The detection range is better than expected - approx 5m and 180 degrees and the light lasts very well - they were both still on (slightly dimmed) when I got up in the dark this morning after more than 10 hours. I have one facing direct sunlight and one that backs on but both work equally well and definitely enhance the look of my garden after dark whilst providing a useful deterrent too. [ Note - I was sent these lights free from the manufacturer ]

TWO BRIGHT LIGHTS
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Very bright solar led motion lightscame very well packed inside and outThis is a twin pack of 8 led lights, that came fully chargedall you have to do is screw them on the outside wall use the small pin to press the switchin the tiny hole by the sensor ,hay presto all done. The light stays on dim all night and then gets brighter when the motion sensor detects youThis needs to get sunlight to recharge so south facing is the best
