DEVMO 2PCS Pyroelectric Infrared IR PIR Human Motion Sensor Detector Module HC-SR501 Compatible with Ard-uino

The modules I received are virtually the same as the ones shown in the picture. Not sure if this is a newer design because my older PIR sensors look like the blue PCB ones. Notably these are lacking the electrolytic caps that are sticking out on each end on the blue PCB version, so these are superior for breadboards. Still tunable the same way, identical pinout, basically a dropin replacement. So I guess I would consider this a happy surprise. I tested both out with an ESP32 and an LED and although I had to jack up the sensitivity (I always have to with these modules), they do work well.

These modules are easy to use and adjust and are a great way to add people detection to my projects. The interface is simple and uses a single binary GPIO pin on the microcontroller of choice. The modules appear to be pretty accurate as well (no false alarms).
