They didn’t help my son. The material is just regular material so it didn’t detour him in any way. It might be helpful if it was a thicker material to keep him from biting it.

Love these! Our kiddo was a huge thumb sucker and we really needed to break the habbit! Nothing was working but these are doing the job! Only thing we don’t like is that they are a little big for him at 2 and he can easily take it off. We secured it with a small hair tie and it works just fine!
