The Blueprint
I am not a music elitist,i find sounds of a playground fading, soundtrack to your escape, and re reroute to remain to be solid in flames albums,re route is a wonderful melodic 101,but now i hear the difference, this is the best representation of in flames old or new that you will hear, period. The Jester Race,Whoracle and Colony are monster melo death albums, but that sound for me personally took a much greater leap and reached it's highest climax with the band Insomnium. Clayman is melo death heavy metal alt rock, every in flames style on one huge masterpiece. The energy, passion, and playing on this beast is absolutely immortal.Right into the opener Bullet Ride and you are gasping for breath with the mood and focus. The whole aura and directional tone is also heavy, brutal, poised, and very very menacing.Clayman has phenomenal melodies complimenting firece screams and beutifully crafted guitar harmonies. Maybe after this blueprint In Flames figured keeping it big and simple was the key. Maybe they went too far in one direction as you can do in any direction of change, but when you go from known in Sweden to known all over Europe, you then want some american pie right?

sounding like the original but more intense with beautiful clarity
Remastered fantastically, sounding like the original but more intense with beautiful clarity. As an album, it holds up easily to anything more modern of the same heavy genre. Brilliant innovation in terms of guitar work and unclean vocals, but also demonstrating some early industrial/electro metal qualities, however tastefully and not overdoing it. Particular highlights include Only For The Weak, Clayman and Bullet Ride.

In Flames - Clayman
Il disco che rappresenta il ponte tra il primo e il secondo periodo della band. Pezzi killer e molto ispirati ma con un tocco di modernità in piu. Bullet Ride è il brano ideale per aprire ogni concerto metal. Fantastico.Disco arrivato in condizioni perfette.

Melodía
No soy muy fan del death metal, pero este disco consiguió que le dedicara unas cuantas escuchas gracias al toque melódico que incorpora. Me encantó en su momento y ahora lo vuelvo a disfrutar

Perfect Introduction to Melodic Death Metal and In Flames at their Best
Clayman was THE album that got me into melodic death metal and then consequentially death metal and black metal further down the road. I was first introduced to In Flames through Guitar Hero II way back in 2007 and was only mildly impressed with their one track on the game, "Take This Life." It took me 4 years to be re-introduced to In Flames and finally give them another shot at the request of a friend through the Clayman album. What I found was a completely different band altogether. It was while listening to this album that I realized that death growls and screams can be used as essentially additional instruments to further add depth to heavy metal, so to say that this album opened multiple pathways for me regarding my music taste would be an understatement. This is also the last In Flames album to utilize a lot of the unique riffs that helped this band to separate itself from the majority of others in the scene, as they would then move toward a metalcore/alternative rock sound with very mixed results immediately after. I highly recommend this album to anyone who may be skeptical of exploring more "extreme" metal genres, as it is probably one of the most accessible introductions into melodic death metal outside of Children of Bodom's "Follow the Reaper" album in my opinion. Specifically, my favorite tracks on this album would be Bullet Ride, Pinball Map, Only for the Weak, Swim, and Suburban Me. However, every single track on it is worth multiple listens. It's one of the few albums that I find myself listening to all the way through whenever I choose to revisit it.
