Wrong size Colander to Bowl! Not going to return for replacement as it will probably be the same thing again. Nowadays, only Amazon option is free return and replace (which is nice), no Customer contact to resolve issue. So replacement will probably be same issue. Note, same issue with another Buyer and review. First 3 pictures = as advertised. See that the Colander (part with holes) sits clearly and nicely inside the bowl (solid part). Last 2 pictures is actual that I received (other buyer's picture, but same thing). The Bowl will sit inside the Colander, but the Colander will not sit inside the Bowl fully. It's like someone punched holes in the wrong bowl or they send the wrong size bowl The Bowl should be bigger than the Colander, not the other way around as received. These things come in various sizes. I've got a strong suspicion that they send the wrong bowl, the next size bowl smaller. Low points for miss-matched product, but I can make it work.As stated, I can make it work. Support offered some refund. Ok with it. Now 4 stars.After use and time, Now 5 stars. Works better even when wrong! Ok, strainer bowl with holes is bigger than water catching bowl without holes. This make the strainer bowl sit up 2-3 inches higher in the catching bowl, see picture. Was wrong from design and intent but works much better this way. After straining and dumping the access water you can just sat this down. There is that 2-3 inches empty in the bottom of the strainer for additional liquid to drain out. Rinse lettuce, fruits, what not. Let it sit additional 5 minutes and minimal water in the strainer as well as on lettuce / fruits. Reversed, but works even better. Great prduct.

Washing rice to me is :fill bowl with water, swirl rice vigorously, drain & repeat 5-7 times or till water is clear.Final drain is important since I cook rice in Berkey filtered water.Most bowls I found had holes at the base so water would drain instantly out.Others had holes way too big for Jasmine rice.This bowl is excellent. It's lightweight but seems robust enough to last.Holes located near rim on one section only, allowed water to fill the bowl almost half way up for thorough rinsing and also not too close to rim letting rice flow out. Several rice grains did stick in the holes but were easily removed. Only lost about 5 grains from 4 cups of rice.Draining is much easier with the base having that angle on one section. Can even rest bowl in sink and simply tip water out.Washing Korean rice or the narrower Jasmine rice works well. Don't think it will work with anything smaller like quinoa (best done with sieve).

Very useful for the preparation for food and salad a bit fragile so try not to drop or it will get dented

I been looking for a long time trying to find the perfect rice strainer. I came across this from Mari's cooking on youtube (check her out) and she had it listed. Im so glad I purchased this. When I first received it I was a little bummed because the holes looked big. I used it that day and felt rice outside the holes and thought yep it's coming out, but it didn't. No rice in my sink!Love the size. For some reason I thought it would be small when I purchased it which made me a little hesitant but nope, descent size! I rinsed 6 cups of extra long grain rice and still had alot of room. Love that it has holes only on a small area because your able to still have water in it while agitating the rice and then you just drain.Love the tilt on the bottom! If there's some water still draining in bottom of bowl, it prevents it from dripping on counter.Absolutely love everything about it! Highly recommend!UPDATE: After few days using it I did notice a couple of rice grains on my sink....a couple of thinner rice grains (most I've seen were 4 small and thin grains, if that) compared to 4 to 6 cups of rice?....definitely not a deal breaker! Highly recommend!!

This bowl and colander are big and so convenient! Love these!!

Just used it and set it on its side in the sink to drain. Attractive design yet it still stacked neatly with my other strainers and bowls. The finish is also complimentary. Perfect size for most of my needs.

Amazon shipped it loose with another, heavy, object. It did not sustain any damage. My wife loves to rinse rice with it (the rice does not stick together in a clump if you do this). It works perfectly for that purpose. We have just started to strain pasta with it as well. The interior appears to be electro polished, which is a nice touch and should help to keep it clean and sanitary. We plan to gift the product to our grown children.

Made my life super easy. Wish I could tell you how many times I have burnt my fingers holding the steaming hot pot, trying to drain the water off the cooked rice. And how many times I have overturned the bowl, wasting a handful of cooked rice.It's this new bowl, all I need to do us pour the cooked rice and tilt the bowl ever so lightly and let it rest on its angled base. Leave it for a few minutes, water drains off (except for that tiny bit of water resting at the angled base). Leave that water in. It evaporates on its own. Easy peasy.I have tried a wire mesh strainer before. But those little rice pearls stick to the mesh and hard to clean them thoroughly.This made my life a lot easier.
