I have the red constant light, how do I know if I need this filter or the third stage filter?

I bought the black zip model in 2016. i thought i needed to replace 1 filter after 6 months, and 1 every year. which filters do i need to buy??

Question 4

Orange/ yellow light after replacing the filters? What could be the reason and how to make the system functional again? Resetting is not working.

Accepted Answer

If the light is flashing yellow then it means that the pitcher is not inserted or mounted properly. I have found that this issue can be corrected by doing two things. 1) wash the supply pitcher thoroughly inside and out. When the pitcher gets dirty outside it does not seem to mount properly. 2) the grease the supply pitcher coupling to the RO unit gets used or dried up. Add some food safe mineral oil, bees wax, or dow corning 111 to refresh (this is what was supplied on the pitcher grommet when it was new); then the pitcher should mount properly.

If the light is fixed yellow then it either means that the filtering cycle is over or you have not supplied enough water. If the pitch is full then see the remedies I described above.
