This item is just what I wanted, it heats water up to the same boiling temperature from that of a normal kitchen kettle only this one is in a compact size.You mustn’t over fill the max line though or it will splutter out boiling water from the top. I always fill it slightly below the max line and it makes a full size cup of hot water.Great for me to take to work.

Unfortunately the first one I purchased leaked. The replacement didn’t keep liquid hot for long, unlike a conventional flask. Disappointing. It had so much potential.

What are the little spots inside, on the bottom of the kettle? Are they from the heating element?

I bought this as the description said: WILCS Portable Travel Electric Kettle, 400ML Mini Electric Kettle Travel Kettle, 3 in 1 Portable Kettle, Automatic Shut off, Travel Tea Kettle for Tea, Coffee, Milk and Fast Food (Pink) however, the instructions clearly state only use to boil water!!!I bought it to heat milk whilst away.I have boiled some water and it didn’t auto switch off, like it says it should, it didn’t take long to boil tho.I’ll be taking it on holiday with me so I’ll see how I get on with it. Love the principle of the idea though.
