If you've ever worked in a kitchen, you know there's a rivalry between day shift vs. night shift. My day shift guy can best be described as; if mildew had a personality, it would be this guy. We had a shared melting/steam dome that lived in our kitchen for an unknown, endless amount of time. This petty spore of a man decides it's his and it disappeared. To be a fly on the wall that day, would have been really something to see. There was cursing and insults and name calling. Two days go by, and it still hasn't appeared. I finally ordered this set. It's perfect. I left one of the smaller ones in the kitchen but, the other two are coming home with my spiteful @** EVERY night! In short, these are perfect for what I needed.

These lids are for our deli grill , staff uses them for steaming vegetables and cooking burgs and other foods. Helps speed up the process. And they are pretty sturdy cause it’s a busy deli!!!

Set came with 2 smaller domes and 1 larger dome. Domes are a nice, sturdy weight; same for the handles. You have to install the handles with the screws and nuts provided. Pretty straightforward and a screwdriver to tighten was even included. The phillips head on the screwdriver was a little small compared to the screw heads but it did the job. I assembled one smaller dome and used over the flat skillet I was using to make a grilled cheese sandwich. As my husband described, the grilled cheese was perfection. Grilled at a lower temp for perfect browning and the cheese inside very hot and melted. I felt the dome as I used it, and it got hot, so it was containing the heat coming from the flat skillet. Dome provided a lot a room above the skillet and surface of thick bread I was using. Put dome in dishwasher and it came out fine. Now, the problem ... I assembled the other smaller dome - good. But when I attempted to install the handle to the largest dome, I found the holes were drilled smaller and the screw would not go thru it. As I titled, the usual lack of quality in manufacturing!!! Showed my husband and he said he'll do something to enlarge the holes, but he is sure it will bend the dome and it will not sit level afterwards.
